The Reno Film Festival has received notification it has been selected as the “Best of Reno” in the entertainment category by the U.S. Local Business Association. The award was an unexpected surprise to the festival’s board being as they did not seek a nomination, nor are they a member of the USLBA. “We’ll gladly take the honor in the name of our festival, our volunteers and the celebrity guests we’ve been happy to host,” said festival President Bobbi Lazzarone.

FRENCH FILM “SKHIZEIN” WINS 2009 MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL.
Reported from Manhattan Short at Collective Hardware in New York City
September 29, 10:30PM:
Skhizein, a 14-minute animated short by French director Jeremy Clapin, tonight was named best short film in the 12th annual Manhattan Short Film Festival. Skhizein is the first animated film to claim the main award in the Festival’s 12-year history.
The 10 finalist films screened 532 times and were judged by audiences in 173 cities over 5 continents during the last week in September. Over 28 000 people voted in this year’s Festival. Less than 100 votes separate the two shorts competing over the title of festival’s best film for 2009.
Best fiction award goes to Hammerhead, which was the second runner up. UK director Sam Donovan is the first director to appear in the Festival final twice, having been a finalist in 2007 with his short film King Ponce.
Best documentary film Mozambique comes from the 17-year old Alcides Soares, the youngest finalist in the history of Manhattan Short.
Isabel de Ocampo claims the Best editing award for her short film Miente.
2010 Manhattan Short will take place September 26th – October 3rd including venues in Africa.

Thanks! And you have every right to ask that question...lol I guess what happened was we originally planned to have it at this park but she wasn't getting too good lighting from it and she mentioned the tracks. I didn't really mind really... I didn't pay for the shoot; it was more for her because she wanted models for advertising purposes. She's a friend of mine so I thought I'd help her out. I have pics as a gift for my participation.
