Reno Free Store mission:
By creating a network based on free-exchange, the free store project intends to raise awareness about American consumerism and over-consumption, to promote recycling and re-use, to create an alternative exchange network outside of the capitalist framework, and to distribute necessary commodities to under-privileged community members and students. (Although we tend to stick to low income areas, our store is for everyone! This means YOU.)

How does it work?
The Reno free store is a non-hierarchal, non-profit, community based project organized and operated by local activists and community volunteers. Items and goods are collected through donations and discarded rubbish. The store is a temporary market, that is set up about once a month. We aim to promote recycling as not just putting cans and plastic jugs out at the curb every week; but the reusing of items that still hold use value and would otherwise routinely end up at the dump.

When and Where?
The 4th free market will be held on Saturday August 4th!
Location: Holland Project (265 Keystone)
8AM until we run out of stuff

How you can get involved!

Volunteer!
The Reno Free Store Project is non-hierarchical, meaning nobody is "in charge". The project constantly needs volunteers (cooking, organizing goods, setting up on the day of a market, collecting used items (i.e. dumpster diving), taking donations, etc..
The Reno Free Store Project intends on uniting activists in the Reno/Sparks area.

Donate!
We will take anything that might have use value to someone else (household appliances, music, furniture, clothing, art etc..) Basically we want anything that one might donate to a thrift store. If you are looking to get some early spring cleaning done, have a closet/garage/storage unit that needs to be emptied, give us your stuff!
