Ren (short for Lauren), started out as a model at the age of 4 for Foleys and Neiman Marcus as well as other print and runway jobs. She went on her first acting audition at the Tony Award winning Alley Theatre landing the lead role of Tiny Tim in "A Christmas Carol". She was a cast member and soloist in this production for 6 years and also toured with the Alley production of Arthur Miller's "A View From A Bridge". Ren was in the Houston Grand Opera's world debut of "Resurrection" playing a Russian prisoner of war. She has been featured in numerous local and national commercials for Space Center Houston, Discovery Channel Store, Methodist Hospital, Compaq Computers, Walmart, political campaign ads, etc. and has been featured in a motion picture. While she still loves acting, her true passion is singing. Ren has performed the National Anthem at major sporting events for the Houston Astros, Houston Aeros, Houston Rockets and Texas Copperheads since the age of 10 to an overwhelming response. She was the jazz vocalist for the University of Houston's Young Sounds of Houston Youth Jazz Orchestra for two years and was bestowed the honor of being named the international winner for Best Jazz Vocalist in the 2007 Downbeat Student Music Awards.
She enjoys writing her own music and although classically trained is creating her own sound and recording her latest material in the studio. Ren was a featured vocalist for the Yippykya.com Get Discovered Launch party and performed with singer/songwriter Joel Stein for his CD release party. She has recorded lead vocals for David Eaton Productions' 10 stories project. You can download her first single at www.myspace.com/10stories. Ren met producer David Eaton while recording background vocals on the White Trash Cowboys CD "Split Personality" at Diamond Recording Studios, which features some of the top rock musicians in the country including Jerry Scott on bass (formerly of Bad Company, Molly Hatchet); RATT drummer, Bobby Blotzer; Tim Hogan, bassist for John Waite and Anna Nalick; and Steve DeBoard, drummer for Slammin' Gladys. Ren has also been recording new music for upcoming movie and television placement. Ren spent the summer of '08 in Bordeaux, France as part of the UHD and Musique de Nuit Student Music Exchange Program where she received a full scholarship to attend the Conservatory of Music and perform at the International Music Festival in South France. This past summer she traveled to Las Vegas to begin work on a recording project with Ian Crawford (Panic! at the Disco, The CAB) and Joey Resly of Ashbury on a project with Realm Films/Vegas Corruption Records.
