Statement
RENTOKILL is a punkrock- band from the eastern austrian scene.
a punkrockband in the 21st century? what is the scene?
it's easy - the scene is you, passionate people who love music, go to shows, buy and distribute records, question the establishment and the way of consumption in this so-called modern western world. we see this band as our chance to express our own (individual) freedom. as being alternative has become a sellout itself, there's a new level of political punkrock content. there has to be!
it is not about being bigger, faster or somewhat better than anyone.
it is not about competing, dressing stylishly or waving flags.
it is about the content of the mind and the heart, not only ours, but of everybody believing in true alternative music, setting up shows,
providing food and places to sleep, yet keeping this spirit
as DIY as it always had to be!
this is an animal-friendly, anti-racist, anti-sexist, movement to deny human nature.
we will go down, but we can still decide how!
this is for everyone!

Influences
basically we're influenced by everyday life, just like everyone else is. musically we're under different influences, ranging from early anarchistic peace punk to late and more modern tunes from the present. we strongly believe in the D.I.Y. ethics, and animal/human liberation, as well as in anarchistic theories and action. finally - life's so much more than just punk rock, isn't it?
RENTOKILL IS A BUNCH OF PUNKS STRIVING FOR SOCIAL CHANGE.
It's not just a matter of race anymore. It's black, white, brown, homophobic, sexist and class war. You can be gunned down on your street or even at your own door...Nothing is sacred. No one is safe anymore from politics of greed and hate. Righteous rage turns dark and makes you think it's too late... but don't even believe anything the media tells you. Anyone can be racist/sexist or homophobic. Hate comes in all sizes/shapes/colors and creeds. Don't borrow from elitist power games, use words that hurt/actions that scarr...no one's immune, we all feel the pain, no matter who we are... But we can still all get along by respecting each others cultures, by rejecting labels and stop judging people by their skin color. We must change this fascist system! Education and communication are our alternatives. Start supporting one another, work with other cultures, hold hands and rejoice for our dream. A dream for a better tomorrow. No matter what race, sex or class you are, no one has the right to oppress you!

We're stoked to announce that we have teamed up with political Punkers Anti-Flag and SideOneDummy Records to release a split 7" to benefit the international Emmaus Project. This 7" is limited to 300 copies and will only be available at all European Anti-Flag shows during the summer of 2009, and at the Green Hell Mailorder store. There will be no repress of this item, ever, so please take your chance to do something good. All proceeds from this benefit 7" will be donated. This will sell out quickly.
THE O.S.E. 12" LIMITED PICTURE VINYL COLLECTOR'S EDITION (2009)
This is a 12" limited edition picture vinyl collector's item, packed in a clear plastic bag with a full colored lyrics sheet/insert added. All vinyls will have the CD version of this release thrown in for free. This is our most complex work to date, a concept EP of 3 consecutive songs on side A, and a special bonus track on side B. Each record is handpacked and handnumbered. Total print run of 500 copies, no repress.
Released March 2nd on Horrorbusiness Records (Germany), SHIELD Recordings (Be/Ne/Lux), No Reason Records (Italy) & Broken Heart Records (Austria). This is also our first record that made it up north, where the lovely guys at Toybomb Records agreed to handle this release for Scandinavia.

there's also another full length out called "back to convenience", holding 15 tracks, initially released in 2004 on the fine austrian labels rise or rust records and broken heart records. shortly after its release, this record got picked up by vitaminepillen records from germany and engineer records from the uk/usa, making it worldwide available in 2005, at least theoretically. the CD comes along in a casual jewel box with awesome artwork and all lyrics. the vinyl is of orange color.
