Ren was heavily influenced by the singers her parents and older brother and sister exposed her to as a child. Her father is a fan of Big Band music like Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller and all the incredible standards of the 1940's. Her mother's favorite is the 70's pop music by Barbra Streisand. Her older brother played mostly Rolling Stones all day long among other rock favorites by The Byrds, Beatles, Surfaris and Joe Jackson. Her sister listened to Linda Ronstadt, Earth, Wind and Fire, Malo, La Tiejera, The Eagles, WAR, The Guess Who, The Who, The Ohio Players...
All that mixed in with sweet vocals by David Gates and Bread, Olivia Newton-John, George Benson, Bill Withers, and Al Jareau combined with lots of good old fashioned musical comedy has really influenced Ren to be flexible and versatile as a singer. Her favorite lady singer/performers are Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald.

Actually all the recorded music is by Ren and her different producers. All the recorded vocals including backgrounds are all Ren's singing. She is an accomplished vocalist ranging from musical theatre to opera to pop to jazz and rock. She performs with groups like Licensed To Sing, on stage in theatrical productions like South Pacific at The Hollywood Bowl and My Fair Lady McCoy-Rigby's La Mirada Theater, and as a soloist at concerts and special events.
