Beauty. It’s a rare thing, especially where music is concerned.
Nothing quite matches the elation of hearing someone bare their soul through music. ‘Reo Rae’, an acoustic singer songwriter from East Sussex, is one such artist.
At the tender age of twenty, she is already an accomplished songwriter and the possessor of a beautifully effortless voice.
Her more intimate solo performances on the acoustic circuit are renowned for captivating even the most talkative gig goers and her electric sets are equally as potent.
Having studied classical music as a child, she decided to turn her hand to more contemporary styles and picked up the guitar in her early teens, playing songs by the likes of The Cranberries, Jeff Buckley and Massive Attack.
This broad combination of influences contributes to her popular appeal and eclectic sense of style.
Having honed her songwriting skills over the years, ‘Reo’ began working with a backing band with whom she recently recorded her self released debut E.P ‘Past The Green’.
Her heartfelt lyrics deliver bittersweet tales of desire, love and loss conveyed with an air of angelic innocence that cannot be ignored.
Featuring her sweet sentimentality and infused with soft melodies and lush harmonies, ‘Past The Green’ is a shining testament to Reo Rae’s unadulterated talent and marks the humble sophomore release of an English rose who is sure to make big waves on the acoustic scene in the very near future.
In a musical climate teaming with one-hit-wonders and flashes in the proverbial pan, it’s reassuring to know there’s at least one artist out there whose creativity hasn’t been corrupted by the latest musical fad.

Past The Green E.P Review
“ The first thing that hits you as you hear the choral intro and first few lines of Past The Green’s opener; “Home” is how strikingly familiar Reo Rae’s voice is to world renowned artist Dido.
With music to match, Reo Rae’s voice is one that is very relaxing and it would be easy to sit and let the mind wander with the warmth of her music flowing over you.
“Where Are You Now?” is another hit, with its lively upbeat rhythm and laid back, but nonetheless effective vocals from Reo Rae, displaying just how good her vocal range can be.
This debut EP is filled with beautiful songs and comes highly recommended. ”
The Gig Guide Verdict = 9/10 Stars.

This Wednesday 15th July is gonna be a busy one for us in Brighton! We've got a FREE acoustic show at The Western Front at 9pm. Then, we're doing a full electric show upstairs at The Pav Tav at 10pm.
Would be good if you can come to one, even better if you can come to both! :)
If you send an email to: info@lostaura.co.uk with the heading 'EP', and pop along to the gigs, tell us your email adress and we'll give you a free copy of our EP! Sweet!
Glad you like the song. Look forward to hearing you at Local & Live, have told the band how fab you were on Saturday night, you blew me and my friends away! A great find! Kx
Thanks for playing the Fishbowl . You won over some serious music fans on Saturday at a rather intimate gig. Sorry your mum and dad had to pay. The E.P is great
Well not much, schoolwork and stuff really, not too many gigs and stuff. I've been playing more with my band though. I saw you're doing a gig in Uckfield as part of the festival thing in a few weeks, do you reckon I should go? My mum's probably gonna go anyway so I might tag along :P Would be good to have a chat again! Plus I might have some physical copies of my stuff done by then if you're interested :P haha. I neeeed one of yours.
Thanks for adding me,I first saw you on You Tube, and said this woman has got it,you have a beautiful voice and can play your instruments well.I wish you only the best! Jon-
I seriously need to buy your EP :( haha just listening to the previews is making me annoyed I don't have it. Anyway, how are you? Check out my new stuff on my page, I've finally finished my first 'proper' album (in my opinion). It's taken me ages, spent a long time mixing and everything, done it all myself at home. Much better than anything I've done before. Anyway was just wondering how things were, and I just wanted to say how much I want to be able to play something with you, cus your voice is pretty amazing :D
Audio... video... anything of you live would be great. :) I've been well! Sort of taking a break from JMMA while we're in the Mayer "off-season." Will likely ramp things back up as new music is released. :) xox
Thanks :D Obviously your stuff is sounding great to, I'll have to pick up a copy of your EP sometime soon. Yeah the band's going really great, that's what I'll be mainly concentrating on gigwise, I just love writing and recording my own stuff at home. We need to get some gigs as a band, cus we love doing them and we have 13 of our own songs now. We've recorded 4 songs already and are going back in 2 weeks to record the rest and then we'll have our album. Hopefully we'll get some gigs off the back of that. If you can help to get us any at all it would be much appreciated! Anyway, have a listen to the 4 songs we have already at www.myspace.com/inmonoofficial .
Hey, hows it going? Haven't spoken in ages, just wondering how everything was. Hopefully you're getting the praise you deserve! Have a listen to the new tracks on my page if you can, tell me what you think.
Hey how are you doing!? I'm writing you because I need your help to win a cool contest my friend Steve and I have entered. It's called the Jamming With The Derek Trucks Band Contest. We are in the part of the contest that is strictly online voting to get in the top 10. After that is over there is a 3 panel celebrity judging for the top 3 out of all the entries. Right now we are in 7th place out of 150+ submissions. I really could use your vote. It's a couple of clicks of your mouse and you're done!! You can only vote once so there's not lots of time wasted. Here is the link....
