From Argentina to Alaska we are united under the corporate sponsored banner of N.A.F.T.A. Its implementation in 1999 gave birth to a small group of freedom fighters who united the indigenous peoples they have since grown from a small isolated uprising into an international organization that embraces all people and threatens the establishment. This example has empowered millions worldwide to join in the struggle for life.
We are now living in a time of turmoil and cataclysmic upheavals. Daily we hear of another bombing, another earthquake, another product recall. We live in a time of free trade zones and pre-emptive invasions. We live in a time that will see the extinction of every living creature upon the planet unless we act and take drastic steps now.
As inhabitants of this our one and only planet we as a species have responsibilities not only to ourselves and our families but to the entire human race and to every living thing upon this planet. We must look towards the problems that face not just ourselves but all living creatures. These problems include but are not limited to disease, starvation and abject poverty. As a species we must now begin to utilize our critical thinking skills and ask ourselves why it is that so many of the earths peoples are dying from starvation, disease and poverty while so few live in total opulence. We must look to those who control the planets resources and ask; “why they are using our resources to destroy every living creature upon this planet in the name of profits for themselves?”
The situation we face is dire indeed. The decisions made at the IMF/WB meeting in DC on the 19th -21st of Oct will directly affect every single organism upon this planet. The survival of not just ours but of every species and the very planet itself hangs in the balance. Will you sit idly by while the corporate elites convert the planets resources into toxins thus destroying all life?

Replacements Needed is a coalition of loosely organized community members and activists dedicated to a common purpose. We are supportive of groups who use direct action and other methods of bringing the messages to the general public. Since 04-04 we have produced a poster every week (except when Mr. Hays has taken trips) that illustrate the true costs of war. That being the lives of those who die as a direct result of the bad policies enacted by the Bush administration and his corporate cronies.
We use Iraqi Body Count and The Department of Defenses numbers because we feel that verifiable sources are best. We acknowledge that the cost is far higher than the numbers indicate thus the addition sign behind the Iraqi number.

We here at Replacements Needed are planning a trip to DC in October to attend the IMF and World Bank meetings from 0ct. 19th - 21st of this year. We are based in Seattle, Washington and are organizing a "Caravan for Unity" from the west coast to DC. If you are an organization whose aims include ending war, indigenous rights, reform of global monetary systems, freedom, free speech, democracy and/or civil rights or any other cause that needs attention brought to it then we would love to have your support. We are hoping that the bio-diesel buses out there will be able to take part in the trip. We encourage pirate flags and lots of noise makers. Let’s ALL show up and let those in charge know that we are sick and tired of the destruction of our planet and its peoples in the name of profits for the corporate elite. Join us in this endeavor and together we can make a difference.
At present we have some reporters and a cinematographer interested in the trip. We are looking to make our way across the country to St. Louis to rendezvous with other groups from the Midwest and together make our way to DC for this historic meeting of the worlds leading financial institutions at a point in our collective history that Vladimir Putin described in May as a time that “disrespect for human life, claims to global exclusiveness and dictate, just as it was in the time of the Third Reich.” It is now time to set aside our apathetic natures and to stand together and join in the struggle for Freedom and to restore Democracy to our once great nation. The fight must no longer be about merely the war, the focus must shift to the economic disparity that exists across the globe. When five per cent of the population controls over eighty percent of the wealth, while failing on every level to meet basic responsibilities, the time has come to unite everyone. We must set aside our differences, whatever they may be, and band together to fight the corporations and corrupted governmental structures that are killing the very planet that we must all share. No longer shall we sit on the sidelines watching as corporations and governments kill indiscriminately so that a select few can maximize profits. No longer can we afford the luxuries of bigotry and disdain for our brothers and sisters. We need to stand together; for it is through unity and unity alone, that we will overcome these greedy, corporate, warmongers. Join us in this trip to DC and let us show what a people united can accomplish.
