It’s a Rock Show… It’s a Pop Show... or is it Dance Show? It’s Replica, and they decided to do it all!
Replica is the cover band that pioneered its way through the Hudson Valley for the last decade.
The bands latest line up of Judy, John, Frank and Michelle has been consistent for over one year. The latest addition has been Lead Guitarist Michelle, (AKA Wolfie) formerly of New jersey’s all female cover band Good Girls Don’t.
Lead Vocalist Judy has been at the helm since the bands inception.
Through time and patience, she feels that since solidifying the line up over the last year, she has gotten a successful formula that has been gaining momentum and fans throughout the area.
A typical Replica show consists of a well balanced flow of music from the late 60’s to 2008. It’s a non-stop musical performance geared to keep people out of their seats and on the dance floor.
Replica rocks out with classic disco and rock ala Gloria Gaynor and Janis Joplin to punk pop and new rock from the likes of Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte and Nickelback. Let’s not forget to mention that for the 80’s fans out there, Replica does at least a 20 minute blowout of some of the best hits from that era at most shows.
Recently, the band has teamed up with Budweiser and frequently has Bud specials going on at the bar and free merchandise to be given away during their sets.
It hasn’t been until now that the band has felt ready to branch out and start investigating new territory.
Lead guitarist Michelle comments: “It seems that lately, more and more couples are deciding to forego the traditional route for their weddings and are starting to express interest in having a rock band entertain their guests. I don’t know if it’s a generation thing, but we’ve been approached more than once to perform at peoples wedding receptions and I think it’s something we’re beginning to become interested in.”
