"The Resting Place of Illusion" (Replosion) start in the year 2000, but it was just an "idea" till 2006, when the band was complete. The brothers Mike and Gian (drums and guitar) after several metal bands, tried to reach their own musical personality by composing music without thinking about a specific genre.
With no doubts the sound was influenced by progressive (mostly from the '70) and
power metal, but also by Latin/Spanish music, some funky-stuff and thrash
riffs.
We found-it hard to mix these influences with our first and never-ending musical love, that is Queen.
We surely had a different musical approach, but the idea of an always changing and personal sound was the same. The composing-experiments we did were something strange, as you can easily imagine. It was "everything and nothing" at the same time.
It was really great fun for us to play but it was not much fun for our friends to listen to!
When Fil from Bologna decided to join the band we spontaneously began to compose with more "order".. but overall: we finally found our singer. We just had the same musical
background, that is Queen and prog-power metal.
Trough the years we have known each other in both the musical and human aspects, and that made us come-out with a few songs, some of those are also included in our Demo.
We spent so much time to find the other two guys to complete the band, and in the year 2004/2005 finally we got-them! Simo (the Hammer) joined the band playing the bass, in a difficult period.. We had some probems with the former keyboard player. Simo showed great patience and constancy till Gabriele (new keyboard player) arrived about one year
later, at the end of 2005.
We worked so fuckin' hard for one year and now you can listen to what all these words are for...
