Requiem is a London, Ontario based band which started in 2005 as a series of jams. The group was formed by school mates and friends, Adri Ano and Chris Smalley. After several lineup changes, the lineup as of May 2009, is Adri Burgo (lead vocals/guitar), Katy Channer (keyboards/guitar/vocals), Kyle Gagne (lead guitar/vocals), Vic Masseo (percussion/vocals), and Chris Smalley (bass/vocals) respectively.
Together they've been writing new material, and have seen their most productive and most inspiring months to date. Fueled by working class upbringings, and the usual angst of youth trying to make their mark against the grain, Requiem has an array of biting riffs, and touching melodic ballads with which to express themselves.
Although gigging only for a short time, the band has already seen radio play at the University of Western Ontario's CHRW FM, and Strathroy's MY FM. They've been playing venues such as, the London Ribfest, St. Thomas' Ironhorse Festival, and as one of 28 bands (of more than 300 entries) selected to compete in Orange Lounge Studios/Niagara Parks Commissions' You Discover summer concert series.
