The band start when Harold and Carlos' former band broke up in 2004. Barbie and Izz, without band after their own band dissolved were drafted to fill the guitar and bass position while carlos switched to drums (He is the vocalist in his previous band). Later that year, went were drafted to sing the vocals, in his first ever band. The quintet took up the name Small Reject Box, and performed their first gig 4 months later. In 2006, Benjamin joined the band as second vocal, screaming the back ups. Coming back from studies, Odell completed the seven man lineup, bringing synth and effects to the band sound.
