Requiem Mass is a four-piece Metal band from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Built from the ground up as a professional, precise and energetic band, Requiem Mass is one of the Southwest's finest.
While most groups concentrated on short demos or singles for their first CD releases, Requiem Mass took the time and effort to hit the ground running with over 60 minutes of kickyourmammaintheface music. "Shattered Destiny" started an underground movement that propelled them into the forefront of modern Metal. "Shattered Destiny" was followed by their second largely successful release, "Another Vicious Cycle". This effort concentrated largely on combining their old school influences and new school metal, blending power and groove. Both of these discs are currently available at Albuquerque Hastings and Record RoundUp locations in limited pressings. Requiem Mass' third full length CD release, "REDEFINE", contained a somewhat more commercial approach with songs such as "Skin" and "Misunderstood" and continued to push the band artistically. After a brief hiatus, Requiem Mass has returned with "The Cure". This 11 song disc is filled with nothing less than what you'd expect from this band...heavy metal at it's finest! They're back with a drive and determination to prove they're ready for major label support.
Performing with SOULFLY, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SOILWORK, DROWNING POOL, DAMAGEPLAN, NEVERMORE, TESTAMENT, ROB HALFORD, DYING FETUS, W.A.S.P., MOTORHEAD, KING'S X, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, SALIVA, F5, OVERKILL, POWERMAN 5000, HED PE, KITTIE, PRONG and GOD FORBID has given Requiem Mass the opportunity to prove they are not just a great sounding studio band, but an incredible live band capable of holding down the stage with many of their influences and idols. Performing at EDGEFEST 2004, FAMILY VALUES 2006, NM SHOWCASE, ALIBI SPRING and FALL CRAWLS as well as many all age and 21+ local shows has allowed Requiem Mass to acquire a die hard local and regional following.
