That's because I'm living my dream of being a full-time author and a mother to three wonderful kids. I left my job as a general assignment reporter for KRIV-TV, the Fox affiliate in Houston, Texas to write books full time. I'm a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and have worked for TV stations in Beaumont and Oklahoma City. I also taught college at Langston University for several years and have even worked as a reporter with The National Enquirer.
I'm a member of The National Association of Black Journalists and a proud and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I love to read, write poetry (I'm a five-time grand slam winner in the Chrysler Spoken Word contest) and motivational speaking.
I've written eighteen books since first becoming published in 200. My latest projects include: Can I Get a Witness, The Pastor's Wife, Everybody Say Amen, the sequel to my blockbuster sophomore novel, Let the Church Say Amen, I Know I've Been Changed, the anthology Have A Little Faith and the nonfiction book, Help, I've Turned into My Mother. I'm really excited about my inspirational teen series, Nothing But Drama, Blessings in Disguise, With Friends Like These, Getting Even, Fairweather Friends, and Friends Til the End.
MORE THAN A TOUCH By Bo Sanchez "Are you Brother Bo?" asked the nervous fiftyish woman. I was peacefully seated, waiting for the prayer meeting to start when this frenzied lady appeared before me. "Uh...gee...,"I stammered, "I don't know. What will you do to me if I say yes?" "Oh my gosh! You are him!" she cried aloud. She started jumping up and down, her hands shaking. "Ma'am, whatever you're accusing me of, I didn't do it!" "Brother Bo, I'm Liza, and ever since I read KERYGMA, I've always dreamt of seeing you face-to-face...and here you are! Oh my goodness..." her breath caught in her throat, "I think I'm going to die!" "No please, don't! Not here! They'll think I did it." "Brother Bo, can I just touch you?" "What?!" "Just one slight tiny touch, "she pleaded, "perhaps your holiness will rub off on me.." Her trembling forefinger was now poised aloft, ready to touch me on my right shoulder. Believe me, I had never felt so creepy in my entire life. Suddenly, I felt like an ancient relic being venerated. I stood up abruptly. "I'm afraid that's not possible, Liza." "But..." Her face turned pale and totally devastated. I opened my arms wide and smiled my best smile. "But can I give you a warm hug instead?" It felt good giving her the hug. When Liza left, I sat down and the truth hit me in a fresh way: God's Love. All we needed was a touch. But He decided to give us much more. On the First Good Friday ever, He opened His arms on the Cross. And that was the greatest embrace of all time.
Sometimes in life, we just need someone who believes that we can. And more importantly, we must have the guts to believe we can. Yes, We sometimes get knocked down by our circumstances and situations, people run off and the thing that we want does not give the impression to want us. But it is in those times when all hope is gone that our understanding must raise its beautiful head. We can make it. It may not be easy, fast or rational but in the blink of an eye or a snap of our fingers, things can turn around.

Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.
