The Bible. Friendship. Sharing ideas. That feeling you get when you finally finish your album and actually get to hold it in your hands. Playing to a packed room. Family-sized portions of chips.

Once upon a time, there was a group of very good friends living in the town of Southampton, on the South Coast of merry old England. One day this group of friends discovered that they were all rather fond of producing fun music under various guises and pseudonyms, and decided that they should get together more often and help each other out.
After many years of playing together in soggy church halls and recording their compositions on creaky minidisc recorders with broken microphones, Resident Alien was convened. Today it is an ever-growing family of happy people, with lots of new-found friends joining in to assist in the primary task of rocking the proverbial party.
Stuff we like to do
Resident Alien is a collective of artists, in the very best '60s-inspired peace and love sense of the phrase. Everybody involved has been decent enough to volunteer some of their time to help out everyone else, in the name of getting good music "out there" without being motivated by sales figures and profit margins.
We try to provide our friends with everything they might need to let people hear their (really rather wonderful) sounds. Some of us produce records and do clever things with studio gear. Some of us take pretty pictures and do smart designs for websites and posters. Others of us organise gigs at assorted local establishments. And still others of us sit at our computers, babbling away on MySpace and other new-fangled electronic outlets, telling of the many pleasures involved in doing the things we do.
People we hang out with
We like lots of different musical styles. Here are some of our friends that you can pay a visit to:
Anonymous - indie / rock / alternative - a four-piece beat combo with a surprisingly lengthy back-story (ask them if you have the time). They combine a love of good old-fashioned rocking out with inventive, melodic songs about truth, love and finding your place in the world. New album The Operator is their best yet and is available from the RA site.
Rugged Fantasia - fusion / jazz / hip-hop - genre-hopping grooves, cryptic lyrics and conceptual jiggery-pokery from this sometime seven-piece. Often playful and mischievous, but with a dark, introspective side that sucks you deeper in. Their first release is the upcoming Freedom (Live Recordings) which will be available from the RA site as and when.
ScatCat - folk / pop / alternative - singer, songwriter and world-famous kazooist Tim Hughes is an author of epic concept-songs crammed with humour and pathos. Accompanied by his Gang of Alley-Cats, he has completed and is currently gearing up for the release of Haberdashery, an 11-song journey through the life of an (extra)ordinary soft furnishings employee. Available soon!
Guys, just put a demo up of a new song of mine. Have a listen and check out the blog aswell if you have time to find out what it's about! Apologies for the mass sent message!
there's been reports coming into EFMP HQ that someone from your group has written a spoof article about the new album which was less than, what you might say, complimentary.
Needless to say, I'm sure the judge can't fail to see the funnier side of this latest insult in court next month.
