fed up//Grew up on lost Los Angeles. Mutherz, Doorz, skatebordz, X, danjerhauz, reddkkkrrroozzz, venice beech, SST, th' berdz, jane's, hippeez, littel ffeete, sum ded, germz...purple hue vapor encrusted over smog-detached heavy fits. pasadena pot perfume cuttin' through the vapors...it was the screaming sounds of the 110...the 5...rumble bumble jumbled up around the ears at night. never any silence here. played sum punk rok in high school...fuked around with jazz and got bored fast...16/17: that's jailbait. who wants to wait around for a solo?...Kicked into gear once i ran it to santa cruz and saw Mr. Chaz's 6 O's blow out the leftover candles from the 70's at the Drop-In Center; locals(at said time) Comets on Fire, The Lowdown, & Loyal Sons & Daughters peeled the paint off the normal rooms they fuk'd with in that town. in Santa Cruz, I started this Residual Echoes summerluvin:2003 two weeks before our first show at a 4th of July flag bernin'. once those initial summertime garage band shows(which subsequently stopped after our first drummer hightailed it back to LA to make cummershalz), the name "Residual Echoes" was going to be set aside for recordings...It wuzn't s'post to be a 'regular' band...but the big bordum bug bit and ennui set into the id...only thing to do was beat this muse senseless and keep on truckin' play live play loud mutherfucker... thanks to the head drude senor cope in regards to the first self-released/rekordead "s/t" album it only made sense to see where playing live would get us. or how much muny it'd get me...Since that first summer, the growing number of musicians that have been in the band(about 15 total...not all at once...think the fall, not the dead) have been tryin their darndest to balance the tasks of creating a live group sound (and recreating one every new member) and fulfilling my gloriously egocentrik pipedreams of creating completely off the wall records. The following year we finally solidified a line-up that lasted much longer than expected(11 months?!) and eventually toured the U.S. properly with our labelmates and bros Mammatus. This line-up is documented in the live cassette "Get Yer Wah-Wah's out" and the LP "California". I've moved operations back to fucking LA and am once again finding a new way to play rock and roll with different people. In August of 2007 the mark 12 line-up released the "Firsts EP" EP on CD. December 07 finds SF the next stop. Stopped cars lawyers guns and money. April 08. LA. So the facts are: 1. A Residual Echoes record MIGHT have a band on it or MIGHT be a solo recording or both. 2. A Residual Echoes live show will ALWAYS be with a band and will ALWAYS be DIFFERENT. Hope this clears up some stuff about what this band is all about.
