About Résistance

1998 : Birth of the band RESISTANCE in Strasbourg, Alsace.

2005 : After the usual evolutions and changes, the band line-up consists of the two founding members Joël (guitars) and Florian (bass/backing vocals), and the two remaining bastards Marc (drums) and Nathaniel (vocals).

2006 : Recorded in 3 days, the first RESISTANCE demo appears to the metal world at the end of december. 8 tracks for a great headbanging session with a beer in your hand.

2007 : The first album is recorded mixed and mastered... On september the 30th, the band plays with HIRAX and inks a deal with EMANES METAL RECORDS. A memorable concert with french metal veterans KILLERS is also happening in Colmar, France. Gigs with our brothers BLOODY SIGN also take place in Poitiers and Bidache.

2008 : It is released under the banner of EMANES METAL RECORDS in 2008, both on LP and CD. Expect a powerful moment of trashing madness, including a MANILLA ROAD cover 'Necroplis' thanks to the gentle authorization of Mark 'the Shark' Shelton in person...
A little 4 dates tour takes place in April with the American thrashers of FUELED BY FIRE, and thus RESISTANCE shares the stage with acts like MANILLA ROAD, CAGE, HATCHERY.
The track "long live metal ", with guest vocalist Jens from LONEWOLF appears on the compilation lp "Long Live Metal-Acte Premier" on EMANES METAL RECORDS.
Mark leaves the band, and is replaced by Marti/Ilmar from our brothers BLOODY SIGN, he brings fresh blood in the band, and is a very talented musician.

2009 : RESISTANCE is composing a second album, inspired by the twisted novel "The monk" by Lewis.
Before may a split ep with HIRAX is to be released as a co-production between EMANES METAL RECORDS/UNDER SIEGE RECORDS/METAL FORCES FESTIVAL (Lörrach).

The band withdraws its inspiration from many 80's metal acts ranged from heavy metal to thrash metal, as well as from a couple of 70's rockers. RESISTANCE tries to know its musical roots in order to mix them up and to give something fresh yet crafted in a strong metallic tradition. If you like it epic and aggressive, RESISTANCE might well be your next cool discovery of the month !

Le KEEP IT TRUE, ouais, j'aimerais bien y aller. Rien n'est décidé encore mais j'ai posé une option dessus! :-)

D'un autre côté, ça fait également longtemps que j'ai arrêté d'aller dans les bars toutes les semaines, et quand ça m'arrive, je vais plus ou moins toujours dans les mêmes. Pour peu que ce ne soit pas ceux que vous fréquentiez... Et niveau concerts, c'est malheureusement rare quand il y a quelque chose qui m'intéresse sur Strasbourg... Elodie
