the war rages on in iraq, while in NYC budget cuts have left more homeless out on the cold streets this holiday season than we have seen since the reagan years....
as we rapidly approach both an election year and another potential war int he middle east (iran)....we are all anxiously waiting to see some sort of magical swing of the pendulum reverse the negative trends developing in america.
i try to be hopeful, but i have my doubts and my sneaking suspicions that both sides of the political aisle have been bought off by prospects of money and power....i am also fearful of a rising christian fascist sentiment in our country and disturbed by developing trend in our political discourse to scapegoat this nation's problems on vulnerable sectors of the population (like immmigrants/homosexual etc.). that being said....this is what days of rage sings about...
we are not that band that puts on a happy face to blow smoke up your ass, we are the band that puts on an angry face and kicks truth down your fuckin throat. we make no apologies for our beliefs, which are genuine and genuinely informed.
we stand for freedom, we stand for peace, this is what true patriotism looks like, not a flag lapel pin worn by the criminals in power who manipulate the people to line the pockets of the elite with blood soaked money, while the rest of us fumble for the crumbs.
this is about resistance to tyranny and nothing less.
this is about you and what kind of a world you want to inhabit...

Marisol and Gai were on their knees, hands cupped over their ears with tears running down their faces. It was difficult to keep my eyes open, but they revealed something terrifying. The silhouettes on the horizon were moving faster, much faster. They were sprinting towards us with frightening speed. I ran to Marisol and Gai and grabbed them both by the arm—pulling them in the direction of the truck—but Marisol resisted.
I threw a pointed index finger towards the growing horde running towards us and mouthed inaudible words. Finally Marisol saw the figures coming towards us and started running back towards the truck. Rusty was firing shots into sprinting creatures on the other side of the highway before looking back towards us. Looking over my shoulder revealed the shadows were no more than half a minute behind us. The monsters no longer moaned: they screamed.
