Pop / Punk / Alt. Rock band Resistant Me was formed by lead singer and songwriter, Cyn Acevedo in 2003. Her musical influences include Madonna, 80’s Glam Rock, 80’s Pop, AFI, Blink 182, Smashing Pumpkins, No Doubt and Matchbox 20 to name a few. Whenever they play they sell CD’s and mostly to new fans. They self released their first full length CD, Bad Girl Rehab, in November of 2007. Resistant Me has also received radio airplay on a number of stations which include Channel 104.9, 98.5 Kfox and Santa Clara University’s 103.3. The band has toured the California coast, where they’re from, a couple times but usually stick to their large bay area neighborhood. “We normally play San Francisco and San Jose but we’re ready to play other states. Maybe even other countries.” Says the band.
"With a certain edgy affinity for '80s power pop bolstered by amazing vocal work by Cyn Acevedo, Resistant Me rips out high-energy songs with intense musicianship and classic rock smarts that belie the fact that they've only just begun their journey to rock stardom. It's often difficult to find a band that has presence, skills and chemistry that can also up the ante and rip out simply killer tracks, but here Resistant Me has all that in spades, latching onto a throwback sound full of irresistible hooks led by a legit bad girl rocker with chops to spare. She's got presence and skills in spades."
-Ryan Osterbeck Metro Active Magazine
Resistant Me has also gotten write up’s in not only Metro Magazine but also Zero Magazine, SJSU Spartan Daily and the cover of West Valley College’s newspaper The Norseman. They’ve also received rave reviews by web-based company Muzic.com. “Another sizzling track [Last Night (Blank Club)] from Resistant Me.” “Cyn's voice is gorgeous…” “This track [Bad Girl Rehab] has me hitting repeat every time I play it. There's honesty here, and passion. Not to mention an unforgettable hook.”
Resistant Me also has an energetic live show. Cyn commands attention and the guys perform with as much passion and energy as the songs themselves. Cyn is extremely prolific and has enough songs for many albums to come. The band is versatile and can fit into many genres. Cyn’s writing style has many different faces. Resistant Me is commercial and marketable but have a next big thing, sound all their own. They describe it as Madonna meets Blink 182 on a “I’m in school but it’s summer and I just broke up with my boy/girlfriend but whatever cause that cute skater likes me” kind of day. They’re very upbeat and fun but still edgy and in your face.
Resistant Me is ready to take the world by storm!
