Pascal Mesnier is a musician specialized in resophonic guitars, based in Paris.
His path is the classic route from passion to professionalism.
After exploring in depth a startling range of acoustic blues and folk style all centered on the slide,he has become an in-demand accompanist and soloist on the European scene.
From 1976 to 1981 he studied acoustic guitar blues at the American Center with Alain Giroux (the French Big Bill Broonzy)
At the end of this period he became impassioned by the slide guitar in all its forms: Hawaiian, blues, and calypso among other genres, bottleneck and lap steel techniques.

"I loved your playing in Plzen... don't think I've heard anyone play Blind Blake so well (and correctly) since Bookbinder."

I really like your playing! Hopefully sometime we can meet and exchange music ideas!"

"... Although the music is very Hawaiian, you add another dimension of very tasteful light and airy jazziness to your songs."
Enfin, je vous ai vu en concert ! Hé bin je n'ai pas été déçu...Très bonne soirée au Baroc. Désolé d'être parti dès la fin du 2ème set : tant pis pour moi. J'espère à très bientôt !
Thank you very much for the Youtube links. You are a talentfull resonator guitar player. Our compliments. We are also honored to play with you in our Lei of Emeralds Show last september. We are impressed of the friendship of the French musicians. Because Bernard Glorian is also a gentleman and good Pedal Steel guitar player. Lots of Aloha from Le Pays Bas, Nora and Rene
My new live album "Tempo, musique pour calcaire et guitares" (music for limestone and slide guitars from a live concert in duet with Franck Kernel, stone carver) will be available for may 2009. I'm really happy with this project. You can watch a video (the last song of this 6 hours long work with interview) from this show here
Hello Pascal... This is near way I live in Oregon. I love the mountains and trees! Summer is coming soon...the weather is warming up and I love it! Hope you and your family are doing fine.
Aloha Pascal... It was so good to hear from you!! I know what you mean, winter has been around long enough!! We had a sprinkling of snow yesterday...ugh! I want to plant flowers and work in the yard...get it cleaned up! :)
I'm losing my job over here. The store I am working for is going bankrupt. Such a bummer! So, maybe I'll be bad and just take the summer off! We are in liquidation of the store goods right now and that will take about 8 to 10 weeks...then I'll join the many unemployed Americans out of work. Bummer.
Keep playing that sweet Hawaiian music! Take care!
