I usually don't have too much time to watch TV, but when I do, I watch on the Discovery Channel or the Science Channel. I used to record "Mythbusters", "What the ancients knew", "Dirty jobs", "medical incredibles", "weapons that made Britain" and "taboo" every week, but alas, I got rid of Direct TV and Tivo to lighten up my bills a little.
Books
I don't have the patience for novels. I can't just sit down and read novels/fiction/science fiction or anything like that. I'm more into books about culture and "info right here right now" type of books and magazines, like trivia books, "the book of facts", books that explain stuff, (Like alot of the Reader's Digest line of books). Magazines: National Geographic, Popular Science, Discovery, and Reader's Digest are my favorites.

I'm a "latte-Land"(Seattle) native who loves Coffee and "Market Spice" tea (from the Pike Place Market). I'm a 2nd generation Filipina, and although I can somwhat understand Tagalog and Pangasinan, I can't speak either dialect to save my life! Funny thing is, although I've lived here all my life, I still get lost in Downtown and in the suburbs sometimes! Not to mention I hate the one-way streets in Downtown Seattle!
I've been an avid martial arts fan since I was a little girl. I run a studio with a business partner here in Seattle. My background and teaching credentials are in Karate, Kajukenbo, Eskrima, Tai Chi, and Wushu. 30 years of martial arts, and there's STILL so much to learn, so much more to do, so many more people to meet, and so much more to experience. I'm always looking forward to learning new things. I'm a firm believer in Confucius's quote: "Among any three people walking, there must be my teacher". Yes, we can learn from everyone....even from the students.
Currently I'm keeping up with my studies in Tai Chi, and Iaido (Japanese swordsmanship). My new obsession is Kyudo (Japanese Archery). If only there were more hours in a day...because I'd like to be able to learn and do other things, like how to ride a horse, how to swim (can you believe it? I can't swim!!), indoor rock climb, start on my book, and other stuff!
I collect swords and knives. My collection consists of mainly Asian blades (katana, dha, keris), but I've recently picked up a healthy respect for Western blades from Mr. Angus Trim, a local sword fabricator and good friend. Most of the knives in my collection are knives that I've picked up along the way for everyday carry, but recently I've been on this kick about "Navaja" (spanish folding knives) and "automatics". I've got my share of "SLO's" ("sword-like objects") that I got when I was younger,and some I received as gifts... but hey, all collectors have to start somewhere, right?
I'm a laid-back, fun loving, nerdy, goofy type of gal. I'm a PDA geek, with a preference for "Palm" products"...My PDA is my brain of sorts, and I'd forget my head if my PDA didn't remind me that I had one! My latest PDA is the Palm TX, and I love learning about new gadgets and gizmos.
My playful side balances my serious side...I'll go down the slide at a playground while kids ask "What's that grownup doing?". Yes, I'm a kid at heart, but not childish. Confident, but prefer to lurk in the background. I've been described as being "nice to a fault", and that I "have the patience of a saint".....yeah well,..I don't know about that. It takes alot to make me angry, I'll agree with that, but it depends on the day. Some days my fuse is really short, and some days people wonder if anger is really an emotion that I'm capable of. What day is today? *g*
I recently got back to motorcycle riding. I used to ride a Honda Rebel 250, took a 10 year hiatus, and in August 2006, I bought my Honda Shadow VLX deluxe. Her name is "Akane" ("brilliant red" in Japanese)

I frequently visit "Alchemy Wisdom", a healing arts center owned by Reggi Shelley, at alchemywisdom.com. I've gotten great results, namely relief of chronic foot, back, and knee pain. I highly recommend this place.

Who I'd like to meet: Morihei Uyeshiba, Yang Lu Chan, Chen Fa Ke (all long gone martial arts masters, but I would've wanted to meet them. I also want my great-grandfather Santiago Toledo...I've heard so many cool stories about him.
I want to meet people that I can learn from and are genuine (no ulterior motives). I don't necessarily mean "learn from", as in learning a particular physical skill or anything like that....but rather, I'd like to learn about other friend's philosophies, problem solving methods, interests, etc. I'm not here looking for "casual encounters" (is that the new catch-phrase for "just a f*ck"?), so if you're looking for a "casual encounter", look elsewhere.
