4 alarm clocks buzzing through silence like a cliche gen x movie

framed like first 96 seconds of the brady bunch but with clothes strewn rolling low like old mountains in one frame and herman miller coffee tables hovering above a wood floors in the other and whatever day it is it might be the same as it was 18 years ago when it started when the restroom poets first left the basement and pushed their way onto the club scene in southeastern michigan.

releasing one EP, "Oddfellows Rest" in 1992 and a full-length self-titled CD in 1995, the Poets dissipated in 1997 one month after completing the never released "Freedom from Information" CD only to reform in 2001 under cover of night.

the poets have been 4 then 3 then 4 again and now they are 3

they have played with blue rodeo, the verve pipe, counting crows, mike watt, george clinton and parliament funkadelic, 19 wheels, Jacko Pierce and a few others you've heard or hadn't heard of but the whole time even after the dissipation they worked and made music

but music is never easy to describe on the page so i won't do much other than say the Restroom Poets have always strived to make music that affects people

music that moves

the style, words, and somewhat contradictory influences have always been secondary to the electric invisible that stretches through the room and the speakers

sliding down through the spine

cracking through the ribs and into the blood stream like a drug you took when you were 16

before you were numb to such things

working and making music.
