Once upon a foggy, wet night at the pub in the late winter of 2001, four
heavy drinking proclaimers of truth joined forces to start the revolution.... the revolution of RETARD RIOT!
After six rehearsals, severel sixpacks, six seeds of Retard Riot Revolution were completed and recorded. It became our first demo named “About to Explode”, released in early 2002. It was noticed by Seven Inch Records in the US and Rock Dreams Mag, amongst others. This could have been the end of story - the week after the recording session the singer, Pelle, left the band due to a drunk fight with the guitarist Ilkka. But he was bribed back to the band with a free beer some days later. Soon after that we had our first infamous gig at Taj Mahal in Västerås, Sweden. It became legendary cus of it..s mayhem and disorder (thanks Pez)....Then we played several gigs in various positions around Sweden while completing songs for the next release.
In May 2003 we finished and released our second, five-track self named seedee (”Retard Riot”), wich recieved great response all over the world! At least in Portugal where we got massive airplay at Infected Records punk radio station “Alternative Infection”. (The street kids in Lissboa were jamming the phone-lines requesting songs from it. Chame a polícia, por favor! :-) It was also recognised in Germany and due to it..s SKA-influences also in amongst the SKA-skin crew in New York. More shows followed. For example the Hjours Festival with In Flames and Troublemakers, a tribute gig for Johnny Cash and a gig with D.S.13 to name some.
In December 2004 the recording “You..re Fucked Up So Shut Up!” was finished wich contained the hit “Streets are calling”
The band fell asleep for a while due to Petri(the drummer)moving out of town and Ilkka and Emqa getting more involved with their other bands (Stonetape Theory and Time Out, Anal Fertilizer) and Retard Riot was slowly vanishing into the night...

We tryed out new drummers and found the fierce force of Amanda in the end. Now the attitude was back and the quest was clear!
A new record with the best of the old tracks was remasterd and put out on Infected Records, Portugal, “The Riot So Far” rec.”… filled with fast punkrock in a true streetpunkspirit. … Do you want some tough hardcore/punk in a way you never heard it before? Please check out Retard Riot!” said one of the critics
The following 2005/2006 the band worked up a tight set and rehearsed it untill they knew it backwards...not. But some voices:
“World Champions in their own mix of 77..Oi/82Hc” and “Best Live Punk in Malmö 2006”.
In may 2006 it was time to go to Portugal and do a couple of fantastic gigs with bands like, Pestox, Decreto 77 Gatos Pingados, Rolls Rockers, PISS!! and many more. Some other bands we played with these years was Motorbreath, Diskonto, Lords of Altamont, Assassinators, Skunks United, Mockingbirds, Skitkids, Nödvärn...
In early 2007 Ilkka went to Cuba and met some freinds in Camagüey who work with streettheatre with streetkids. In the summer of 2007 they put up Romeo and Juliet as a streettheatre play and used “The Riot So Far” - RETARD RIOT as the theme for the Montague family!!! (The Capulet theme was some shitty gangstarap..)
In late 2007 the recording of a new cd began and in early 2009 it was finished (1,5 years for 12 minutes.. heh). 8 tracks that sound like an angry alcoholic on speed!
Now after a long unplanned brake it..s 2009 and Retard Riot has a new look as a trio with Ilkka and Emqa still going strong and a new crazy drummer in Glenn Fem Spänn.
Now it..s time again to concur the stages around the world, with a even sharper guitar and a even angrier bass, the frustrated animalistic drums and the ever so hungry song!
