The Retreads are and were a punk rock'n'roll outfit hailing from the unlikely shitburgh Muncie, Indiana. Formed in December '95 by three dudes named Mike, Matt, and Scottie, the band morphed over the years but has always produced some fun, exciting rock'n'roll and left a decent legacy of electric basement performances and sweaty, stage-rippin' rock outs. They released an EP of material in late '04 called "Muncie Meat," in an extremely limited printing and called it quits. "Highway To Helsinki," the band's last full album of material, was rereleased by the legendary Gulcher Records in '03 and still remains a fine listening experience for those with discerning taste in the punk and rock.
And now, after an absense of over a year, the slumbering beast seems to be waking up, maybe?
Band members Mike, Scottie, Carl, and Jon have reportedly decided to rejoin forces for a one-off opening for the Hellacopters. Could it be? Three of the four had yet to form any new projects (Carl rules it in Phoenix Bodies, and has for way over a minute now), though it must be stated that whatever each ends up doing will probably be fanfuckingtastic. Or utterly terrible, I don't know. Nor do I care. I'm just some scribe doing the job I was hired to do. I gotta say, though, that the Retreads brought (and bring) rock that is pretty damn, uh, rocking. Quality tuneage, quite boss in fact.
Progression is overrated, but regression is even more pointless. Hail, hail the Retreads, the most pointless band in rock that will fuck your eardrums numb...you'll love 'em more than life itself before you know it. Prepare ye dudes and brohams, the mothership has relanded, for a second at least.
Come out and celebrate the release of our new album, 'Real World Shaker', with us. The kickoff to a national college radio campaign beginning on the 30th. It should be a wild time. Hope to see you there and as always, thanks for the support - The Wonda

About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
Hey thanks for adding and the friendship. Keep checking back for updates on upcoming shows, live footage and our EP due for release mid 2009. Cheers for the support.
