The Retreads are and were a punk rock'n'roll outfit hailing from the unlikely shitburgh Muncie, Indiana. Formed in December '95 by three dudes named Mike, Matt, and Scottie, the band morphed over the years but always produced some fun, exciting rock'n'roll and left a decent legacy of electric basement performances and sweaty, stage-rippin' rock outs. They released an EP of material in late '04 called "Muncie Meat," in an extremely limited printing and called it quits, only to reform a couple years later to waste everyone's time again, sporadically, several times over. Like break-up sex, but for bands. "Highway To Helsinki," the band's last full album of material, was rereleased by the legendary Gulcher Records in '03 and still remains a fine listening experience for those with discerning taste in the punk and rock..... The dudes continue to soldier on in various groups, Mike and Matt in the Cocaine Wolves; Carl in Deadmen, the Dream is Dead, and Coffinworm; Scottie in the Webcam Teenz; Jon in the Jack Davies. Support these bands with your dollars and feel free to toss your bras at them during performances, as additional support is always welcomed..... Progression is overrated, but regression is even more pointless. Hail, hail the Retreads, the most pointless band in rock that fucked your eardrums numb...you'll love 'em more than life itself before you know it.
