For pure a cappellatude, look no further than Retrocity (rhymes with 'velocity'). Seven bitchin' singers electric boogaloo their way through your favourite 80s tunes, without a Casio or drum machine in sight.
In 1998, seven Toronto vocalists decided to form a band dedicated to performing the music of the 1980s completely a cappella (using the human voice as the only instrument.) Retrocity set to work writing custom arrangements of their favourite songs from the era, and created a high-energy evening of nostalgia that not only included great music and vocal gymnastics, but also featured 80s pop culture trivia, audience participation, and 80s-centric skits. Now in their 11th year, Retrocity are extremely proud to share their collaborative vocal talents and enthusiasm for the 80s with a wider audience by way of a studio recording.
