About Retrorespect-Return the favor, new tune now up
Im Damo aka RETRORESPECT 25 years old living in Wibsey Bradford, I took up learning to Dj speed garge, bassline house and 4x4 without ever intending to play to a audiance as I just wanted to listen to my fave tunes in what ever order I wanted. I started on a homemix belt drive kit(yes have a good laugh) expecting to give up after a month or so but I keept at it. When my mixer blew up I knew it was time to upgrade so I got some second hand 1200's and a new mixer, as soon as I got on these every thing started to come together with the help of 2 work mates Greg Masters a funky/electro houseDj and Brett Bates a Hardcore/hard trance dj both from Doncaster.So I soon got the bug and wanted to be like my fav Dj's who I used to see every fri & sat nite. I first started playing out on a Thursday night at the Red Square Bradford where I now hold down a good residancy every saturday night and bank holidays. I have also played at other nights for bassline house and 4x4 in Bradford most recent Basslineblast@Icon . I am now well into producingand am having fun makin the tunes using Frutiy loops ,Acid and Reson. My style is mostly Organ and Bassline but Iam getting stuck into making my own type of 4X4 (happy 4x4). Ive met a lot of cool people through the bassline scene, so for any one who thinks it's full of knobs and chavs your way off the mark. I work full time as an Asbestos removals supervisor which is a top job. I Dj because I love the music I am hoping to find other venues and nights to play in the new year as I love playing tunes.
