RetroRockets	Mar 18 2008 11:24 AM The RetroRockets will be bringing their roots-rock&roll to bear in the fight against cancer. Friday night April 25, at midnight (leading into Saturday), the RetroRockets will be on stage at Grover C. Fields Middle School on Hwy 17 in New Bern in support of the folks who are voluntarily walking and walking and walking to raise money for the fight against cancer in the Craven County Relay for Life. From the Relay website, It’s not just an opportunity to celebrate, remember, and fight back. Your involvement will help the American Cancer Society work toward their mission of eliminating cancer as major health issue and will support much-needed services in your community. Thanks in part to the donations from Relay For Life and other events, the Society is saving lives, helping those touched by cancer, and empowering people to fight this disease all over the world. So come on along to hear the music, come along to cheer the teams, and come on along to donate some money and make yourself feel better.

He released "Peggy Sue" fifty years ago this year, and lost his life in Clearlake Iowa 49 years to the day a week from this coming Sunday. During their upcoming show at B&B Junction in Bayboro on Friday Jan. 25th at 7:00 pm, the RetroRockets will pay tribute to Buddy as well as to Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper who also perished in that plane crash. Along with the tributes to these early Rock & Roll pioneers, the RetroRockets will also perform a "musical history tour" through the ages of Rock & Roll, from the days of Holly as well as Bill Haley & the Comets, Elvis, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. Don't miss the RetroRockets as they dust off songs that few bands play live anymore, like "Bye Bye Love" from the Everly Brothers, "Sleepwalk" from Santo & Johnny and even "Charlie Brown" by the Coasters. You'll hear some of the music from the sixties as well, with songs from the Drifters, the Beatles and the Beach Boys, and get reminded of how great the "Surf Music" was from folks like Dick Dale, the Ventures and the Bel-Airs. A great, fun-filled evening is guaranteed for all. B&B Junction is a no-alcohol, no smoking venue; the concession stand serves soft drinks, coffee and hot chocolate, as well as popcorn and candy. RetroRockets	Jan 7 2008 12:16 PM New Show Friday Jan. 13th in Bayboro! Folks down in Pamlico County have a chance to come and hear the RetroRockets play live at B&B Junction on Hwy 55E in Bayboro, just past the Wachovia Bank on the right, but just before the First Citizens Bank on the left. The RetroRockets will launch at 7:00pm for an evening of "Sock-Hop" memories from the fifties and sixties, with a few "newer" songs sprinkled in for good measure. B&B Junction is a non-alcohol, no-smoking club which normally hosts "Classic County" shows every Saturday night, so this is something special for them - and for the RetroRockets. C'mon out and enjoy the show. Cover charge is $7.00
