For immediate release: Retrospectro is not your run of the mill pop-rock-punk outfit. They're eclectic without making an annoying habit of it. Every song still has a unique Retrospectro feel to it. They have taken punk and skillfully blended it with garage rock, intricate guitar, and some groovy pop sensibilities. Brooklyn’s Retrospectro takes a twisting, turning route down the infectious hook driven pop punk road. With some influences felt from Williamsburg district neighbors The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, this band also invokes feelings from more obscure bands such as Run Westy Run and Southern Culture on the Skids. The influences are mere fuel for what is a freshly burning fire. Catchy grooves are laced with twangy guitar work and vocals somewhere between Bowie and Knoppler with maybe a touch of Dylan. The vibe is more feel good than raucous and leaves you with the feeling you have experienced something fun but musically intelligent as well. Can anyone say true buzz band?
