P.T.'s Revenge started in 1996 with founding members Kevin & Jeff Sierzega and Matt DeMeester. After practicing for a few months and playing one show under the moniker, "Snot Rockets," they decided that a name change was in order. One faithful night of partying at the Sierzega household would provide the change they were looking for. A dear friend was given a SUPERB nickname, P.T. -- which he hated -- so they decided to name their band after him, and thanks to a waitress at Kerby's Coney Island, the rest is history.
After guitar player and friend Adam Tercalla joined the lineup, they formally dubbed themselves P.T.'s Revenge. In the ensuing years, the band released two full length records and one split LP with fellow Detroit rockers Slo-poke.
After Adam and former drummer Matt Johnson left, the band added former Churchill drummer Johnny K. and former Wrist Rocket guitarist Dave Lapham (PRD). With the additions, the band's signature line-up in place, they gained quite a bit of notoriety in the Detroit scene and toured the East coast twice. In their time, they played with the greats in punk rock; New Found Glory, Goldfinger, Sum 41, Mustard Plug, Big Wig, Toasters, Reel Big Fish and The Suicide Machines, just to name a few. In addition to the East coast tours, they played the Warped Tour, worked with legends such as Jesse Michaels (Operation Ivy) & Mass Gorgini (Screeching Weasel, Squirtgun) and played to sold out crowds at Detroit's famous State Theatre and historic St. Andrew's Hall. They were also regulars at such venerable Detroit clubs as the Shelter, the Wired Frog, Jacoby's and of course, Pharoh's Golden Cup.
Members of P.T.'s Revenge have since gone on to play in bands such as Teen Idols, Bullets to Broadway, A Darker Broadcast and Common Rider. Though they disbanded in early 2002, their memory is still alive and well in the hearts of the faithful in Detroit's music scene. All those from the west side who look fondly back at the "Pharoh's days" remember them as one of the best bands to emerge from that scene.
Come join them as we bid farewell forever to P.T.'s Revenge.
