Reviewer: Writer Jaime de'Medici (CD Review of the "Return of the Dinosaur
With a record entitled Return of the Dinosaur, it shouldn't come as much of a shock that Reed Marcotte and Steve Crabtree display a strong affinity for classic rock. The duo draws upon the monsters of yesteryear such as Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and of course, Black Sabbath. One could argue the group does little to establish an identity for themselves past channeling their idols. But at least Marcotte and Crabtree display better tastes than the majority of the acts out today copping someone else's sound. Jaime de'Medici, Illinois Entertainer Magazine. NEXT UP IS A REVIEW FROM MIDWEST BEAT MAGAZINE:
This 11 song collection will strike a strong chord with fans.....
Reviewer: Tom Lounges "Midwest Beat Magazine"
The Times "ON THE GO" Local Scene published 01-09-04: This 11 song collection will strike a strong chord with fans of groove-heavy stoner rock from the late 60's and early 70's. As the title suggests, this is a case of middle-age musicians revisiting their roots and creating "dino-rock". They even get a little help from a true Chicago area dino legend J.C.Hartsfield. Rock On... Tom Lounges..

ONE KIND RADIO CD Review by John Bowles 09-25-03
Steve Crabtree and Reed Marcotte have put together a great mix of straight forward rock songs that continue to evolve into a masterful mix. A great mix of the sounds of yester-year and with a slight touch only brought by this duo.Steve Crabtree and Reed Marcotte have emerged from the many local Chicagoland artists producing solid rock for the masses. Radio ready tunes that would linger in the smokey air of any rock bar making the patrons sing and think of what they would have missed out on if the Dinosaur hadn't returned..

Said Paul: "You get ideas and some of them are madder than others. I was in bed one night and I thought wouldn't it be a great idea if, in a town like Cleveland or wherever, just like an ordinary town where they've got a school orchestra or a town orchestra, wouldn't it be great if another tradition grew up where all the people who played guitars and all the people who played drums and all the people who played bass, they all formed themselves into a big band and played rock and roll - like an orchestra with rock instruments, and that would be a Rockestra.
Local Scene | Friday, May 29, 2009 MUSIC NOTES... * When keyboardist Bill Hayden (of area country band White Lies) finds he has extra time on his hands, he always finds a creative way to fill it.
