Jeff the Christian Libertarian (Rom. 14)'s Interests

About me: "Sin is sin even if everyone is doing it; righteousness is righeousness even if nobody is doing it." Pastor Charles Simmons, Berean Bible Church, Indianapolis
"Just because something works doesn't mean it's right. Just because something doesn't work doesn't mean it's wrong." Baseball manager Buck Showalter

-------------------------------------------------------------
About me: Married since July 23, '83, no kids. Ordained minister: fundamentalist, but I have no problem with Christian rock music or modern translations of the Bible. I'm currently working at a clinical laboratory in Indianapolis.
I am a songwriter, play guitar and piano, though I don't do much with any of the above. I am a member of Central Indiana Christian Songwriters Association (see http://www.cicsa.org)
I am a member of Toastmasters, since 2001. I earned my Distinguished Toastmaster designation in 2008. I am not stopping; I won't say if I'll try for a second or not, though.
My wife and I are area representatives with Voice Of The Martyrs, also since 2001. I teach Sunday School, write an on-line devotional, and have finished a novel.
Becky and I just moved into our first house on May, 2008. We are debating getting a dog, though right now we have a few pet squirrels and a mother cat with four kittens who are skittish toward us but love the shelter under our deck. We even have a pet wasp, who keeps coming in and lets Becky take him/her back out.
I have written my second novel. The first one, written in '84, is basically a book written for a non-existent market. This one, written in '08, is one I'm seriously seeking publication for. I sent a profile of it to Writer's Edge, and GUESS WHAT!!! Writer's Edge will include it in their report and post it on their web-site (it may not show up till the end of next month). The next step is the balance of waiting for a publisher to contact me and taking other steps to find a publsiher. PLEASE PRAY.
Who I'd like to meet: Debbie Black, former WNBA player (2001 Defensive player of the year) and current Ohio State assistant.
President Bush.
Mike Scossia, former Dodgers catcher and current Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim manager.
Annie Herring, Nelly Greissen, and Matthew Ward (a.k.a. 2nd Chapter of Acts) and Buck Herring: they were instrumental in my Christian life.
Tanya Tucker, Country singer I had a crush on when I was a teenager.
David Robinson, retired NBA player and minister.
Katie Feenstra, WNBA player who is also a Christian.
Margaret Becker, CCM artist who has ministered to me.
Daniel McCabe and Steve Taylor, Christian rock artists who have influenced me (McCabe as far as music, Taylor in performance and lyrics).
Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, of "Mike and Mike in the Morning" on ESPN radio.
My favorite female vocalists, Jeni Varnadeau and Moya Brennan
ere is a word Lord gave me hope blesses you Goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life. Do not look out there into the world, but look within, I am there, look up into the heavens, I am there. I see you, I'm watching you, also see really see, do you see when I carry you? Do you know when I hold your hand as you walk? I never left you, I"m here. Let Me be your heart's cry. I love you, I will lead you on your own path to your destiny. Trust Me. No time to fear. Quiet your soul, all is well, your Redeemer, your King is here!"
"I know the times saith God, times of trouble like the world has not yet seen. Times foretold by My prophets, times when men's hearts will fail them because of fear. But you My children, My sons and daughters are not under My wrath, I will keep you in the palms of My hands. "
"You are My lights, My glissening lights that sparkle like beautiful gems, jewels so rare, tried in the depths where the heat has brightened you to become My beautiful diamonds. You are extravagant, rare, and priceless. Your shimmers in the earth are an awesome sight to Me. You are the jewels in My crown saith God."
"The stronger you love, stronger your light that shines forth from you. Always allow love to be your goal, love is the prize, aim for it. Let love be your bond, let love be the glue that holds you all together. Your love for Me, then your love for each other. Love is the key, the main thing, only thing that matters. "
"It is not how many souls were saved not how many were healed and delivered the real question is how many times did you reach out in the hand of love and give of yourself for another? Did you really care? Did you really walk the extra mile? Did you give your other cheek? Did you give away your coat? Hug the unlovely? Feed the poor? Were you a father to the fatherless even for 1 hour? Did you give a word of hope to the ones in despair? Do you recognize the divine appointments in your life? Did yo

PEARL 5--Back to the Basics Category: Religion and Philosophy
We must go back to the basics in our walk with the Lord. First, He must be the love of our life, our first love! Second, His Word must be priority in our life in our life. Third, we must be people of character.
First , .is the love we must have for the Lord. This means, we say "Good morning, Lord," when we first wake up. Stay in His Presence all day. Take Him everywhere we go, whisper to Him at work, sing with Him or to Him in the car. Enjoy the scenery, the weather with Him. Ask Him questions about work, how you can do better , for favor, and for peace.
Make Him our best and close friend, the one that "Sticks closer than a brother, where He no longer calls us servant but friend." We are the one He wants to walk in the cool of the day in the garden with, to talk about how we are doing , what is happening, what we would like Him to do to assist us. Also, what the Lord would have us do for Him!
We must treat Him with respect and awe and be comfortable enough to even call our heavenly Father "Dad." When we talk to Him. He adores us, made us for fellowship. Laugh with Him, He can be funny, just look around you, even His animals and bugs are goofy and goofy looking. God may be funny but He is smart!
Enjoy sweet times with Him. Like a child, we can be simple with Him. Let Him comfort you, when you need it. Close your eyes and "Lean back" into His chest and let His arms around you. Allow Him to "Blanket us with peace and renewed strength." Remember Him just before we go to sleep and tell Him "GoodNight."
Second, His Word must be priority in our lives. We must read it, study it, find Jesus in it. We must obey it,confess it, memorize it, and pray it.

" WORD FOR TODAY IS ( CONFLICT ) JAMES 4:1-2 NKJV BIBLE " WHAT IS CAUSING THE QUARRELS AND FIGHTS AMONG YOU? ISN'T IT THE WHOLE ARMY OF EVIL DESIRES AT WAR WITH IN YOU? YOU WANT WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE , SO YOU SCHEME AND KILL TO GET IT. YOU ARE JEALOUS FOR WHAT OTHERS HAVE , AND YOU CAN'T POSSESS IT , SO YOUR FIGHT AND QUARREL TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM THEM. God presents us with gifts and directions that we choose because He allows us to choose. What an awsome God He IS !! I also believe that He only gives us what we can handle.
Well He has presented me with an opportunity to take my ministry to the next level. In order to take this next step to further my ministry and spread His word I need to raise 1900.00 dollars in the next 25 days.
This will help me provide my jail ministry and the whole ministry in general, copyright and legal fees to keep it going. I'm not asking that you donate the whole amount but whatever you can to help Me give these men hope and the Love of Our Lord JESUS Christ. Please tell your friends also.
Christmas is coming and I would love to help these men further their lives in the service of Jesus. But without your help I may get shut down before I even get started. If you would like to donate you can use the paypal link below or Send Donations to made payable to:

2Jeremiah 33:11 the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD, saying, "Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever." For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,' says the LORD. 2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.
Praise be to God! We have so much to be thankful for! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
"What does the Bible say about dating / courting?" Although the words “courtship” and “dating” are not found in the Bible, we are given some principles that Christians are to go by during the time before marriage. The first is that we must separate from the world's view on dating because God's way contradicts the world's (2 Peter 2:20). While the world’s view may be to date around as much as we want, the important thing is to discover the character of a person before making any commitment to him or her. We should find out if the person has been born again in the Spirit of Christ (John 3:3-8) and if he or she shares the same desire toward Christ-likeness (Philippians 2:5). The ultimate goal of dating or courting is finding a life partner. The Bible tells us that, as Christians, we should not marry an unbeliever (2 Corinthians 6:14-15) because this would weaken our relationship with Christ and compromise our morals and standards. "Is it a sin to cuss / swear / curse?" It is definitely a sin to swear (curse, cuss, etc.). The Bible makes this abundantly clear. Ephesians 4:29 tells us, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." First Peter 3:10 declares, "For, whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech." James 3:9-12 summarizes the issue: "With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers , can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water."Brigitte ♥
So, should Christians go to doctors? God created us as intelligent beings and gave us the ability to create medicines and learn how to repair our bodies. There is nothing wrong with applying this knowledge and ability towards physical healing. Doctors can be viewed as God’s gift to us, a means through which God brings healing and recovery. At the same time, our ultimate faith and trust is to be in God, not in doctors or medicine. As with all difficult decisions, we should seek God who promises to give us wisdom when we ask for it (James 1:5). Brigitte ♥
God's patience has a limit. In the parable, the vineyard owner grants another year of life to the tree. In the same way, God in His mercy grants us another day, another hour, another breath. Christ stands at the door of each man’s heart knocking and seeking to gain entrance and requiring repentance from sin. But if there is no fruit, no repentance, His patience will come to an end and the fruitless, unrepentant individual will be cut down. We all live on borrowed time; judgment is near. That is why the prophet Isaiah wrote, "Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon" (Isaiah 55:6-7). Brigitte ♥
Hello friend! Please stop by and read my new blog and view my new video on YouTube called "The Open Door". Blessings! http://jolenerileymusic.wordpress.com/
Our belief in God is a belief of faith. We have faith in His Son for salvation, faith in His Word for instruction, and faith in His Holy Spirit for guidance. Our faith in God should be absolute, since when we put our faith in God, we depend on a perfect, omnipotent, omniscient Creator. Our belief in science should be intellectual and nothing more. We can count on science to do many great things, but we can also count on science to make mistakes. If we put faith in science, we depend on imperfect, sinful, limited, mortal men. Science throughout history has been wrong about many things, such as the shape of the earth, powered flight, vaccines, blood transfusions, and even reproduction. God is never wrong.Brigitte ♥
Freedom & Liberty........ "Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." "Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." "James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed."
Philosophy, tradition, or being worldly & politically correct will not gain anyone the freedom and liberty that our Lord Jesus Christ made available to us. But when we we love our neighbor as our self, then we gain great freedom, as we in our own way serve each other as God has enabled us.
