Music is my life boat. I ache for it... obsess over it. I dream about it and absolutely love it. I make music of all kinds: r&b, blues, folk, hip hop, soul, jazz, showtunes, you name it, I am into it. The album that I am working on right now (my first solo album) is mellow/jazzy/r&b/soul combo. Though my next project will probably be me and my guitar + a few friends.
Growing up I always enjoyed music. It started with my parents collection of goodies like Al Green and Bonnie Raitt... And I can't forget Tears for Fears (mama's fave) and then once I was older I started picking up on the musical likings of my brother and sister such as: Paula Abdul (early ninties), Sublime, Wu-Tang Clan, etc. Sooner or later I loved it all, minus popular country.
I didn't start taking music seriously until about four years ago. Before that I was known to bust out the guitar at a camp fire, but really nothing more than that. I was too busy engaging in extreme sports. I didn't take my sound seriously until Jon the Baptist called me out and told me that I had to do something with my voice... that was when I joined the Soul Shepherds (a subgroup out of the Sandpeople). We almost completed an album, then I moved to Ashland for school.
In Asland my love for music exploded. I was always able to jam at one house or another as the town is filled with incredible musicians. There I made an underground album with my good friend and producer Beak. The album is called Beak and Family: Growing Pains. I also did a lot of impovisational singing through many different outlets.
More recently though, I have decided to take my music to the next level and create a my solo album HYPERSENSATION... which is more than half way done and I am anticipating a release in the summertime! I am now in Portland OR and lucky to be working along side of some of Portland's finest such as Andy B. Tony Ozier, Grand Verbal, Farnell Newton, Goldini and Al One of the Sandpeople, and many more. P.S: when I am not making music I love to surf, snowboard, learn, climb, club it with the cool kids, cook, travel, and partake in adventures of all kinds.
