Revenue formed back in 2002, in the dead-end town of Peterborough gathering together there mix of different musical tastes and backgrounds to create their own sound and songs with reference to bands such as The Clash, The Jam, The Specials, The libertines and the cure to name a few. The band is made up of Adam Bridges on vocals. Jonny Richman guitar, The Sav on guitar, James 'Animal' Hearn on drums and Simon' Pato' Paterson on bass. The band live for the live shows and thats where the magic happens with a sound thats fast energetic full on raw and in ur face the gigs are usually eventful and sometimes a bit messy and shambolic but thats what its all about and makes us revenue. In 2007 Revenue made the finals of the Camden crawls Indie Idle voted for by the public and industry judges.
Revenue also made it to the finals of the 2007 Diesel-u-music international music competition claiming a place in the top three bands of the indie/rock catagory.
Resonating with the fervent buzz of a bunch of 20-somethings who've discovered that matters of the heart, when explored in sonic form, needn't be all minor chords and introspective wailing, Revenue are a loud, confident lot. Summing up the snotty vernacular of ASBO britain, the band's hyper-kinetic missives last little longer than two minutes each, with the likes of 'music' ringleading the post-libertines grot-rock revival, and 'chineseman;, a wonderfully tongue-in-cheek tale of undercooked chicken chow mein. Siphoning a sense of teenage trepidation through the anguluarity of XTC and the pummelling rythemic pulse of Talking Heads, the bands acerbic portraits are stretched over a pop canvas ensuring Revenue are not merely another flash in the post-rock bedpan. With Revenue we were really into the punch and energy of the songs, the tracks are played at a highly charged rate, which have you dancing in minutes.
