New EP ‘Bridges’ the gap to audience
One of the hardest working bands on the Sunshine Coast, The Floating Bridges will be launching their new EP with a massive night of roots, blues, rock and reggae at The Buddah Bar, Byron Bay Brewery on Friday February 25th..
The five-piece outfit have had a massive 18 months since they started performing to live audiences, steadily gaining a reputation as a ‘must-see’ live act, playing regularly all over South East Queensland, developing a large fan-base in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
Launching nine months after their debut self-titled EP, The Floating Bridges newest offering, ‘Fire’, really captures the intensity and contagious feel-good vibes the band continuously put out.
The band combines a healthy dose of Australian roots, reggae, blues, funk and rock into a healthy fusion of energetic sounds that get audiences up and dancing, merging the gaps between genres and stereotypes.
The show at The Buddah Bar, Byron Bay Brewery on Friday February 25th forms part of their “On Fire” tour, since the release of the ‘Fire’ EP, which leading local music website, The Point Sunshine Coast describes as “like opening up a can of compressed rainbow - breathe in the notes, listen to the melodies, and I dare you to resist moving around.”
This show will mark the first in a long run of upcoming launch dates, including a tour through Northern and Central NSW, as well as a run down through Sydney and Melbourne, spreading their infectious grooves all over the countryside.
Manager for The Floating Bridges, Mike Jenner said that the amount of hard-work, persistence, and dedication the band has shown in the last 18 months is really starting to pay off.
“No matter where the ‘Bridges’ boys play, the amount of energy they put out in their performance, whether to 50 people or 500 people, really transfers to the audience, and they’ve managed to capture this into their new EP,” he said.
“The band has now earned a name for themselves, and are becoming heavily in demand, rarely having weekends off in the last six months.”
Follow all of The Floating Bridges’ shows coming up on their Facebook page, or on Reverbnation.com.
The Floating Bridges EP Launch at The Buddah Bar, Byron Bay Brewery on Friday February 25th starts at 7.00pm.
Other Show dates on the tour will include
The Australian Hotel – Ballina Saturday 26th February
Nambour Originals – Quota Park Nambour Sunday 27th February
Ric’s Bar – Fortitude Valley Sunday 27th February
