Riding my Honda VT-750, camping, fishing, gardening, and Bible study.
I enjoy the Martial Arts, especially Kenpo. I hold a Blue belt with the IKCA, as well as a 3rd Degree Black Belt with the DKKA and UKKA. I am also an avid gun enthusiast. My favorite weapons are my Taurus 9mm, SKS, and my Winchester Model 94. Want to mess with me or my wife? Think again!!
Music
Mostly Christian Metal bands, such as Demon Hunter, As I Lay Dying, Deliverance, Disciple, Living Sacrifice, Tourniquet, Mortification, Barren Cross, Extol, Soul Embraced, and many, others. As far as non-Christian bands go, I like a little Yngwie Malmsteen, and have been completely blown away by the talent of Dragonforce. Give a listen to my playlist and see what you've been missing!
I don't listen to much Country music, but I absolutely LOVE Katrina Elam. She's from Bray, OK, which is just a stone's throw away from where most of my extended family live, and where I consider my adopted second home. I was introduced to her music by my aunt, who has known her for years. She is an amazingly talented artist, as well as a very, very sweet girl. Those of you who like Country music need to check her out and request her music on the radio. If you ever get the chance to see her perform, don't miss it! Tell her Jerry sent you. Love ya Kat!!! xoxoxoxox
I don't get into too many new shows, with the exception of CSI (Vegas and NY) and House. I also like the shows on Food Network (Paula Deen is the bomb!), and DIY shows.
I will watch ANY NFL game that's on! I'm a HUGE Denver Broncos fan! They didn't do well at all this year, but next year, watch out!!
I really love classic TV shows, such as The Andy Griffith Show, The Beverly Hillbillies, Gomer Pyle, Mr. Ed, and such. It was such a simpler world back then, and it shows that you can be funny without being disgusting.
Books
Mostly theological works by people that most of you have never heard of! I read a lot of Benjamin Warfield, Charles Hodge, James White and others.
As far as non religious books go, I would highly recommend "Why Government Doesn't Work" by Harry Browne, and anything by Ron Paul.
Heroes
As far as those who influenced my life, I'd say that my dad is my #1 hero. He's the greatest guy in the world! He set a godly example for me when I was young, and is still one of the greatest examples of christianity that I've ever known. We have a few theological differences, but I'm convinced that he'll get it right someday! :)
#2 would be my former pastor, Dan. He passed away from cancer a couple years ago, but made such an impact on my life that I will never, ever forget him. He helped to shape my theology and, although I hold to an even more Protestant Reformed view than he did, he steered me in that direction. I thank God for that!! I'll see you again someday, Bro!!
I also have to say that my son and my wife are 'heros' to me, too. My son, Aaron, is the greatest 'kid' in the world. I'm fortunate that we we both have the same employer, although he makes more money than me! (Pay attention, girls!) My wife, Pam, takes better care of me than anyone ever could, even though she has some health issues that cause her a great deal of pain. I love her with all my heart!
About me: I grew up here in Tehachapi, CA. With the exception of part of 1st grade, I went all through school here. I actually started 1st grade in Chickasha, Ok, then Rush Springs, OK, before moving back to Tehachapi. This is where I met Pam, the most beautiful girl in the world. We've been married for over 29 years, and have a wonderful son, Aaron, who is 26.
I am blessed to have a job as a Personnel Supervisor at the state prison that is located here. I've worked for the Department of Corrections for over 17 years.
I have an Associate's degree in Religious Education, and a Bachelor's degree in Ministry. I have been slowly working towards my Master's in Theology.
My wife and I also sell Avon. You can check out our website at: www.YourAVON.com/jdunn Denver Broncos Layout MySpace Layouts Gallery! Create Your Own Layout Here!
