General

When I get rich I'm gonna custom order a really pretentious prestige car like a Bentley or a Top of the line Ferrari with all the trimmings. I'm gonna take it home and go to work on it with gardening implements & give the paint a good workout until I can see some good metal. Then I'll pour a 20lb bag of road salt on it, hose it down and let it sit overnight. In the morning I'll clean the salt off with a spatula, spray-bomb it with complimentary hues of red and grey primer (not forgetting to hit the wheels and windows in the process). Then I'll stick big Firebird (or Tommy Hilfiger) stickers on it, and weld a fishing hood ornament to the roof. The final touch will be one of those big-ass fibreglass wings people order to make their imports look like big shopping carts, and bolt it (crooked) to the back end and epoxy some clothespins, socks and underwear to it. I'll then duct tape $100 bills to the inside of the glass to form a sunvisor and drive it to one of the most expensive clubs/restaurants/events in town and ask the valet to park it diagonally across 3 spots in front of the windows where I can keep an eye on it.

I adore Felt paintings of Leprechauns sniffing their fingers.

**************************

Basically i've always been really into dark DIY punk/hardcore or trashy raw rock... Some other familiar stuff I like:

Descendents, Gang of Four, Sonic Youth, Hella, Minor threat, Accused, Alice Cooper, Esquivel, Die Cheerleader, Bad Brains, Husker Du, Ramones, Motorhead, BeeGees, Dead Boys, The Pursuit of Happiness, Iggy Pop, The Stooges, Budgie, Burt Bacharach, Dick Dale, Misfits, The Ventures, NoMeansNo, Tom Jones, Toxic Reasons, COC, DOA, Bauhaus,The Accused, Black Flag, Mean Reds, Jefferson Airplane, The Dictators, The Locust, Flying Luttenbachers, Stranglers, Thin Lizzy, Raw Power,The Monkees, Orchid, Samhain... and copious amounts of noise, grindcore and experimental stuff
I also listen to ALOT of 50's/60's lounge/jazz/soundtrack/surf/spy music - I couldn't even begin to make a list... then there's the 70's freakout funk stuff in the vein of Shaft... Did I mention Disco? You better believe it! O-Jays, Chic, Lipps Inc., KC, The Miracles... Best mixed up with any in the above list! I'm brain damaged - what can I say? If it's creepy, kitsch, camp, or mule-kicking powerful I'm bound to like it; more so with a combination of those qualities.

MoviesSame rule applies for films: Classic kitschy camp funnies, or vintage flicks heavy on story, character & camera work. I hate dumb movies that are made with the same old tired & moronic storylines and rely heavily, if not completely on special effects and CGI - the exception might be a parody or satire... I especially have a hate-on for Hollywood's current culturally bankrupt money grab remake-mania - and of course all the morons who flock to see that crap and perpetuate that stupidity indefinitely (end rant). I gravitate mostly to drama & comedy, and generally pass on the stuff that's a downer...
North by Northwest, The Man who fell to Earth, Red Planet Mars, Early James Bond flicks, Pink Panther movies, Smokey & the Bandit, Beach Party pictures, Barbarella, In Like Flint, The Party, The Naked Truth, Grand Theft Auto & other Corman creations like Death Race 2000, Rock & Roll High School, The Ambushers, Roadie, The Wild Ride, Metrpolis, Beat the Devil, Village of the Giants, The Time Machine, The computer wore Tennis shoes, Phantom of the Paradise. A lot of cheesy B-horror flicks. I could go on indefinitely... but I'll spare you the agony.
TelevisionWell, mostly it's utter crap with mind-numbing commercialism thrown in for good measure. The idea of actually paying to have my intelligence insulted by a bunch of brain-washing bottom feeders who market to me continually irks me to no end, so I live with a broken antenna & one channel - which motivates me to experience and enhance my own life instead of watching reality TV. Fortunately for the big nasty TV execs and advertising experts, most people are too tired or bored to do anything else, and are plently willing to shell out the big bucks for counteless channels of nothing so they call wallow in their apathy. It's almost as silly as trading in your contemplation time & income on the contemporary umbilical cord called the cell phone - another cognitive parasite. But that's another story.
Having whined about the sorry state of the arts & the human condition, I'll tell you about my fluffy old TV shows/DVD's... Lost In Space, The A-Team, Kung Fu, Sanford & Son, Jonny Quest, Batman, The Rockford Files. Countless more - You get the drift... I hope! ;)

TOTÄLICKERS / HOLOCAUST IN YOUR HEAD Split EP - 3.5€
Another release from these two tireless Barcelona punk bands. Totalickers offer us 4 tracks aggressive d-beat punk highly influenced by 80’s swedish punk and Discharge. Holocaust In Your Head deliver 5 songs of relentless and manic r’n’r hardcore less crust that their debut LP but crazier and faster. Watch out for their split LP with Motorbreath to be released by TRABUC.!!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us..

INSOMNIO "No Escape" LP - 8€
Debut release of this young band from Zaragoza, and what a debut! 10 hardcore punk-rock songs (9 own songs plus a The Stooges cover) about teenage frustration and hopeless desperation. The influences from Adolescents, Reagan Youth, 7 Seconds or even the “less cheesy” Descendents are more than obvious. There’s already an EP planned on No Way Records from the US.

Rev....Whats up?......Happy Easter!!!.....Just checkin in with ya...Also wanted to share this important issue with you as well.....As you might or might not already know, a couple of weeks ago CNN did a segment entittled "Hip-Hop: Art or Poison?...this segment was both biased and ignorant toward Hip-Hop.....Public Enemy founder and Hip-Hop Legend Chuck D was a big part of this segement....The folks at RAPproject TV felt that Chuck's viewpoint was not fully represented during the CNN segment....So they tracked down Chuck to give them an exclusive, one on one sit-down interview on the issue.....During which the question is fliped.......Is CNN art or poison?.....Chuck gives a great, insightfull interview that is a must watch for any pop culture, hip-hop, or Public Enemy fan.....Check out the exclusive Chuck D interview today....Leave a comment to join in on the discussion, and let Chuck know how you feel about his viewpoints:

That would be cool if you could remaster the recording and fix it. Do you just need a burned copy of the CD? If so, I could give a copy to Rol. That would be great - thanks so much!
