On 20 April, North London quartet Rev78 release their debut single ‘Us Against Them All’, a download-only release available on iTunes, Napster, HMV and all good online stores!
Recorded in January with producer Russ Keffert (Clinic, The Rakes), ‘Us Against Them All’ is a powerful statement of intent from a band who are climbing out of the indie swamp at an alarming rate.
Rev78’s music is a collision between dark, clashing soundscapes, and bright, catchy melodies which seep like honey through a toxic sea. Think The Killers playing hooky three-minute versions of Godspeed You Black Emperor tracks and you’re halfway there; somewhere in that swirling maelstrom is the chemistry needed for rock ‘n roll greatness.
Singer Ed Quick, meanwhile, might just be UK indie's next superstar frontman. His voice is supremely rich, immensely powerful and utterly dynamic, with the kind of chasm-spanning range which might have Muse’s Matt Bellamy looking over his shoulder. At the same time, it has a unique quality, a distinctive timbre which separates him from the crowd - after a recent gig, Ed was described by a fan as “the bastard lovechild of Morrissey and Ian Curtis”, which is as close to the mark as we think we’re gonna get.
