HOW TO GET YOUR OWN "REVOLVER":
I make hand-crafted hoops, and while the Revolva website is going through a redesign, feel free to contact me here to ask how you can get one!
BIO …
Revolva first hit the stage at age five, as a "dancing poodle" in a Detroit-area ballet class. After years of dancing, crafting fiction, writing/performing plays and collaborating with other artists on multi-media projects, hoops whirled her way in 2002. And suddenly, this writer-by-day transformed into a sequin-clad hoop artist, causing jaws to drop across the globe, from her former home in the Midwest ... to her current home on the West Coast ... and to Germany, South Korea and beyond.
Like Clark Kent, "Ms. Jones" will stop scribbling in order to save the world (from boring acts). But beware because the story often lingers, even after her transformation into super hooper Revolva. James Bond, the lady from Flashdance, a 1980s breakdancer: she does it ALL! And her unique style of "character hooping" is infused with mind-boggling tricks, awe-inspiring flexibility and a whole lotta' grace and rhythm.
Want to "revolutionize" your lineup? You know who to call. Revolva's arsenal of skills includes: highly professional theme routines (requests accepted), general freestyling to DJs/live music, roaming performance, fire hooping, LED hooping, teaching fun workshops and standing on her head while hooping on her toes. Revolva has performed hoopdance on three continents, earned one and a half masters degrees in English/Creative Writing, and made it her life's mission to prove that story-telling and the movement arts are a truly dynamic duo.
Heroes
People who don't need societal approval to feel happy and necessary. I also admire pirates. And ninjas. Just about equally.

Who I'd like to meet: Dancers, prancers, revolutionaries.
* FYI ~ I love getting to know interesting people, but I don't automatically accept all friend requests. I'm interested in connecting with non-private profiles, non-"hot women collectors" and profiles that don't contain something that makes me want to give up on humanity entirely and crawl back into the ocean (i.e. a song called "Smack Dem Hos Up"). Thanks!
Thank you so much for your boundless hospitality, kind ear, razor-sharp wit and creative inspiration. You are the hostess with the most and it was a delight to share space with you in Eugene. All the best as you figure out your trajectory for plans branching away from finishing that masters degree right now! With love, Spiral
HEY HOTTIE HOOPER!!! sooo super duper stoked on the fact we finally came together and got a chance to HUG!!! to bad we didn't get to play more at OCF!
SooOOO
What is Miss Revolva's plans on World Hoop Day? Have Eugene hoopers planned anything? I was going to put together an event here in Portland which some live music and wondering if YOU would like to be one of our special guests. =)
Let's develop this community sister! I need ya! ~~<3
Revolva, It was nice seeing you at the Ghetto Park Show. We will have our first show @ Bel Ami Lounge on this Saturday, July 5th. Eugene Jazz Legend, Kenny Reed and funk legend, Frankie J. will back up us! I will try to sing a lot in Japanesew. I'm looking forward to see you and you friends.
Could you be more friggin talented? I love you! I am honored and hyped to be the honorary guest of the truly underground, ghetto-fantastical Oregon CITY Fair. Sounds actually a helluva lot more fun! Especially the post dance-bliss Hennessey...you know how to appeal to a hip-hop head's heart and sense of indulgence ;-) Can't wait to get my dance on wit ya!
So sorry I missed your call yesterday, I was doing my best to enjoy boy-time and not think about the future and it's sometimes cruel twists and turns... Which brings to mind your situation with the country fair. I look forward to chatting soon dear. Keep your head up!
Hmm...methinks I might have to make a trip to Michigan in August! You bring so much light into my life, I can't even tell you. I miss you like crazy and can't wait to give you a great big hug again!! That moment hugging you at Shakori is my most favorite moment ever. I still regret ever letting go...I should have held on tighter!! xoxoxo
Congratulations for your gigs! And, you looked great @ the Broadway Rave Event. I was in my friend's car and did not have time to say you hi but wish you will keep on hooping!
