Revonda Roberts & Harvest Wind is a Multi Dove Award Nominated bluegrass gospel band. They have soaring four part harmonies and, as their record label states, 'top notch musicianship'. They perform mostly original material and have quickly became a much sought after group. Their 2006 album 'Ancient of Days' was nominated for the 2007 GMA/Dove Bluegrass Album of The Year. They were also one of the various artists featured on 'Bluegrass Gospel Time' album, with the song 'The Old Crossroads', which received a nomination for Special Events Album of The Year.
The first radio single, 'Midnight Train to Memphis' written by Revonda from their new cd, 'Ancient of Days' was in the PowerGrass Radio Bluegrass Gospel Charts for three consecutive months and has remained on radio charts for over a year. They have also had success on many other radio station charts as well. 'Sunrise on A Sunday Morning' written by band member, Justin Bowles, was so well received, that the band decided that they should release it as their second single to radio. As a result, it debuted on the International Charts at 61 for the month of July. then moved to 30 on the Top 100 for August and in the Top 100 for September. It again resurfaced in the Top 100 at number 71. After two years, that's some heavy charting success. In addition, the song 'Better Farther On', also from their new album is also on the Gospel Charts for the month of September. Was in the Top 80 for November 2007, December 2007, January 2008, February 2008, March 2008 and again May 2008 at 7!
In a copy cat world, Harvest Wind is a band that stands out without doing anything more than being themselves, writing and playing the music they love. They have had their music reviewed by countless industry professionals and they all agree upon one thing, that they truly are a band with a sound all their own, a sound that has transcended bluegrass gospel boundaries. However you want to classify their sound, it's a sound that is taking this band to new heights.
The 2007 tour season included being booked at many well respected bluegrass festivals and venues including Silver Dollar City and New York City's Broadway.
Revonda's Bio:
Revonda Bowles Roberts is an honor graduate of Iaeger High School in Iaeger, WV. She was born in Bethesda, Maryland and bluegrass music was always a part of her life as she is a fourth generation musician. Both her parents were from the southern coalfields of West Virginia and that wasabout the time that she picked up the fiddle.
After graduation she had a modeling career with John Casablancas Modeling & Career Center based in New York City and appeared in various magazines. She even auditioned for the soap opera 'One Life To Live' but won a college scholarship and majored in computer programming. However, after four years of college, she decided she'd rather play music, sing and songwrite.
She has penned countless songs and owns her own publishing company. Most of the material the band performs is written by either Revonda or Justin.

HELP PUT THE STANLEY BROTHERS IN THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME!
Ralph Stanley has received many well-deserved honors in the last few years, yet one honor eludes him. While many of their fellow musicians and singers have been recognized by The Country Music Hall of Fame, THE STANLEY BROTHERS have been sadly -- some say criminally -- overlooked.
Jeanie Stanley, youngest daugher of Carter, and fan Kaye Hill have organized an on-going petition to change all that.
"The Country Music Hall of Fame recognizes those persons who have made a significant contribution to the country music field," says Hill. "The Stanley Brothers helped lay the foundation for what we have today. Their names deserve to be listed among greats like Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs, who have already be recognized."
You can join their efforts in one of the following ways:
Contact the CMHoF directly:
Mr. Kyle Young, President
Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum
222 Fifth Avenue South
Nashville TN 37203
Or, if you prefer, you can send a letter to Kaye Hill, who will forward them to the HoF.
D. Kaye Hill
PO Box 2553
Harrisonsonburg VA 22801
Kay says, "a simple one-line note is all that would be required, but please remember to supply your name and address, and an email address if applicable. I will be collecting all letters and forwarding them to the Country Music Hall of Fame."
Heard some bad news about an accident.. wanted to let all of you know - we are praying for you and trusting God will heal and comfort and pour out his blessings on each and everyone. We love you at worldwidebluegrass.com. Stay strong.
Always in prayer
