Hip Hop is not an image, it’s a revolution. Think back to the first time you heard KRS-1 scream, "The Bridge is Over, The Bridge is over." Or the first time you heard Biggie Smalls ring out that classic powerful "Uhh." The blood in your body bubbled and your heart raced to a million beats a minute. It was like being a virgin again. With every line there was a visual. You could smell the "cheeba," you could hear the sirens. You could see the kids run to the ice cream man. It was like taking a tour through Brooklyn in June. Even if you've never been to New York you felt like you could navigate the streets with a blindfold on. When the song ended all you could do was rewind the track. Its now 2008 and everybody and their next-door neighbor is a rapper, or a thug, or a gangster. People actually drive their own Bentley's. Enter the new millennium of hip-hop where every song has a dance and a platinum chain is mandatory. There still is hope. From the undying black tops of Washington, D.C arrives a man of hip hop, a connoisseur of staccato, a master of bravado, a prince of inflection; Ladies and gentleman, Rewind. Hailing from your nation's capitol, Rewind, born Ryan McMillian, has brought individuality back to Hip Hop. He no longer refers to himself as a rapper. He is a champion. The game is his to be won. That’s what happens when you combine the passion of Huey Newton, with the street sense of Neno Brown, touched by the brilliance of Thurgood Marshall. He commands respect. No longer does every hip-hop head have to be validated by street laws, jail time and hustling. It’s about the heart. Rewind, a student at Arizona State University, started with the aspirations of being the next Allen Iverson. He attended a nationally ranked high school for basketball, received a full athletic scholarship to attend North Carolina Central, but when coaching politics played a major role in his success. So he jumped across the country to play for ASU. That is when he received a real dosage of life. He saw that every team has those "politics." So he chose to pursue a Pre-Law degree. There has only been one consistent force in his life and that is rhyme. It started with quoting Rob Base in pre-school to memorizing LL Cool J's " I Need Love" in poetry class; a true student of the game. Like the way he practiced free throws before and after practice, he garnered new metaphors to unleash in the next cipher. Standing 6'5 weighing in at 230 pounds, he slaughtered rappers daily, commanding the attention of all who dared to listen. He's taking over the industry one wavelength at a time, with elusive remixes you may have heard on Brown Paper Bag (featuring Juelz Santana, Rick Ross, Fat Joe and Lil Wayne), or the "M.I YAYO" anthem "I'm so Hood" where he delivers his usual excitement like"... let me get my tool kit, the game just need a lil maintenance, I stick to the track like ticks, ya'll n!gg*s be on my tip like waitresses." With his new hot single "Soul" produced by Invincible (The Incredibles/ We the Best Music/ Def Jam).Where he displays a forceful display of wordplay and energizing riffs that sound off with every fill-in.
