the GREAT Jim Delehant. World's greatist A&R man ever. Took all my book learning, shoved it aside, and taught me how to play MUSIC. I'm still learning his lessons. THANK YOU JIM, I could never say enough.
My guitar influences would include Peter Frampton, EC of course, Robin Trower, Frank Marino, Johnny Winter, and OH YES Ritchie Blackmore. Later on, Edward Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Michael Schenker. And of course Stevie Ray Vaughn. There are many great guitar players, and the thing is, you can learn and be inspired by ALL of them; my students show me new things all the time, EVERYBODY has something to offer.
As to band influences, I got a lot of my concepts for "how to write a riff" from Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple. I've always had a leaning towards some of the blusier feeling rock bands, such as Free, Bad Company, Humble Pie; in more recent years I enjoy the Black Crowes because they remind me of that loose bluesy vibe I always would get from Humble Pie.. But of course my own music sounds NOTHING like any of these bands, I guess it's just stuff I like to listen to!
