I kid you not - every venue I've been in has a massive Midas desk and racks of eq and fx - huge amounts of stuff given the capacity of these rooms - and loads of crew too from what I can tell. Every place has a house tech and a lighting tech and people to put the stage together.
I'll get some pics but haven't been able to get any recordings, as I've just been a punter. Even the squats have PA's of some kind.
