Dear friends -
There is no easy way to write this email, and while I would rather call you all personally, I just can't find my voice right now without crying. Jon passed away Saturday night from a drug overdose. That is what we believe/know at this time. He just got back in the States from an amazing European music tour on Friday. He was doing so well and, well, I guess he thought he was invincible and wanted to celebrate his return. I can't even begin to imagine how he really felt though.
The funeral is this Tuesday, May 5, at 2pm at King David Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Hwy., Falls Church, VA 22042. More details will be in Monday & Tuesday's Wash Post.
Thank you all so much for your overflow of calls and love and support. Know that I truly appreciate it and I am so thankful to have so many friends who knew Jon and love us.
Love, Andrea (Jon's Loving Sister)
Rezin, the Washington, D.C. quartet of Pete Swindler (guitar, vocals), Andy Hughes (guitar), Jon Blank (bass) and Matt Collazo (drums) bring in a variety of styles to complete the wall of driving blues-based hard rock.
"I definitely think there’s been a progression, Swindler said of the band's time together. Now we sound more like one instrument than a band." And that instrument creates a distinct sound apparent on their previous releases: Stanley (1998), Summer of the Brain Dead Everyone (2000), Everything Happens (2004) and Aim Lower (2006). The next full length record not titled yet is currently in production and will be released early 2009. Rezin currently performs in the Mid-Atlantic area, eight to ten times a month in support of their existing
CD’s. Songs from all four releases have enjoyed frequent airplay on 98 Rock, DC101,
WHFS 99.1, and WZBH The Beach. Rezin also appears on Music Monthly’s “Music Monthly Music Volume I” compilation CD, as well as being chosen for the OASIS compilation CD, and the latest 98ROCK Noise In The Basement compilation of Baltimore's best. Among Rezin’s various accomplishments are two awards from SAW’s 15th Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest for Frank 1937 and Ride which are both featured on Stanley and the single “None of the Below” being a featured song on Stoner Rock.com.
Rezin is a band to watch for. As Unsung Hero put it,” This is the stellar concussion of Baltimore’s next generation as it refuels, explodes, and evolves.”
Rezin has played with:
Seether, Fumanchu, Kings X, Mighty Thor, Exies, Seemless, Bang Tango, Brant Bjork of Kyuss, Lake Trout, The Underwater, The Hidden Hand, Nothingface, Dog Fashion Disco, Jimmies Chicken Shack, Quiet Riot, The WHFStival multiple times, Ballyhoo!, Unorthodox

"Confusion Is Next embody everything I look for in musicians; passionate, intelligent and talented; people who perform purely for the joy of performing; and this comes across in the music they produce, a return to the glory days of Alternative Rock [...] Great music should trigger a response from the listener and Confusion Is Next’s song writing possesses this quality" ~ Barry Rogers, LostChildren Netlabel / Loss Of A Child
"CIN have struck a balance between the raw, loud sound that dominated their first two releases and the melodic, dynamic sound that began to appear in "Lost in Dark Days" [...] In just a few years, CIN have matured into a confident band who seem to have a clear vision of exactly where they want to go." ~ Michael Gregoire, blocSonic.com

We wanted to share our new underground video for Mair's upcoming release "Who AM I?" And because of your support our singles are doing well in sales but we can use your help by down loading one of her songs. You can find Mair everywhere music is sold online and on all major wireless providers. We have to grind this shit out without a radio push, just connecting with you. So this video was done using parts of Mair's trailer for her soon to be release movie short about a young trying to finding herself. MF networks wont carry the video because of the gun issues right now, basically always hiding from the truth.
Support real music!
Enjoy!
