Rezonance was formed in Sacramento, California in the spring of 2002, when Jamaar Wallace paired up with Justin Labrado in a local college course. The two, previously only classmates, immediately became friends. They soon discovered that they shared a common passion: music. In fact, their love for music was so similar that they soon began writing songs on their acoustic guitars. After months of endless songwriting and jam sessions, Justin Labrado and Jamaar Wallace began to explore their musical talents and seek out a new edge to their sound; this is when Justin Labrado sought out his long time friend, Lorenzo McNeal, to play the bass guitar.
Soon the two acoustic guitarists were back to their old habitual practices; however, this time there was a new element, a bass guitarist. Though Lorenzo McNeal had no previous musical experience, he showed the same passion and creativity that burned within Jamaar and Justin. In due time, the once two-man band had become a trio; and new songs were being written on a daily basis.
It had finally seemed as if the three new be musicians were on their way to satisfying their musical talents until witnessing an outstanding performance by an unknown drummer. Intrigued by the talent they just witnessed, Jamaar Wallace, Justin Labrado, and Lorenzo McNeal sought out this mysterious drummer, later to be introduced as Justin Snider, with an unusual proposal. The pitch was an offer for the drummer to leave his band and join the three of them in pursuit of new musical challenges. The reply was a shocking Yes!
The four, who shared a common vision, experimented musically with Metal, Blues, Hip Hop, R&B and Pop. The result was Hard Rock seamlessly infused with elements of R&B while retaining Pop sensibilities. By the winter of 2003, the band had officially given themselves a name: Rezonance; which literally means "richness or significance, especially in evoking an association or strong emotion." This symbolizes the passion the band mates wish to have listeners experience. In pursuit of venturing into new musical realms, Rezonance hopes to be recognized for their unique ability of combining Alternative Rock and Soul in a manner thought to be impossible.
