  • Bio

Rhett Aycock is a singer/songwriter/acoustic guitarist from Fremont NC. After years of drum work on everything from bongos for the school band to driving beats for metal and punk bands, Rhett picked up the guitar and followed his heart. With a sweet blend of folk and soft rock, Rhett lets the gentle guitar and soulful lyrics take you down not a new highway – but familiar roads of love and emotions we all have traveled. Rhett spent his college years perfecting his guitar work, while performing in the choir often as a soloist or in a duet as both a baritone and tenor. In 2003 Rhett was drummer / lead vocals on "Goodbye, Rose Ann", a song composed by RW Hobbs and performed by employees of WNCT-TV 9 in Greenville, NC. It was written for anchorwoman, Rose Ann Haven, as a tribute to her when she left the station to move closer to her family. Recorded at Music Box Studio in Hamilton, NC, "Goodbye, Rose Ann" won the The 2004 Midsouth Regional Emmy Award for Music with lyrics. Rhett's acoustic style, reminiscing of James Taylor and Simon and Garfunkel, makes him the perfect performer for house concerts, coffee houses, and wineries, but he also performs well on the larger stage of concert halls. In his spare time , Rhett always has music going, anything from 90's alternative to metal to traditional country to jazz to alt-country to rock and classic rock, and is continuously composing and writing new material. "My style is to be honest and true. To write music that will change a person's mood upon listening to it. That's the goal." - Rhett Aycock .. .. -Rhett ................
