There's no escaping the Detroit in the grooves here -- as the album's got a classic sound that stretches back to the city's crossover days at the end of the 60s -- that magical time when soul, rock, and funk acts were playing to the same crowds all over town -- and breaking down a lot of musical barriers in the process! This album's definitely got a funky undercurrent, but there's also a lot of fuzz on the guitars -- and tunes shift from being soulful to being rockers -- all produced with a nicely gritty edge that reminds us of some of our favorite blue-eyed funky rock from way back -- if that makes any sense! Titles include "Am I Grooving U", "Is That OK", "If I Said", "U Can't Stop", "Mirrors", "Faultline", "Heaven", "Nuthin", and "Be Long". Dusty Groove - August 09
LITTLE TEMPLE Los Angeles: " This group bears a combination of Funkadelic, Rare Earth, Flaming Ember, Frank Zappa and Al Green rolled into one along with that raw, gritty Detroit sound that would make the late great Norman Whitfield proud." September 09'
Patrick Hamilton of the LA Examiner says: you should definitely check out the new full-length release by Rhett Frazier Inc, which takes STAX-era guitar licks, blues attitude and 70s R&B crossover appeal and blends it into a tasty milkshake of auditory heaven.
Important: Rhett Frazier Inc does not keep the comments of prostitutes, poseurs, or hustlers on their page in order to manufacture buzz, but it was great seeing you that one time and we did sound great.
