Rhian Mostyn is a well-established singer/songwriter from Llanfairfechan, Gwynedd U.K.
Since the 2001 release of Playboy that spawned such hits as Heno and Ibiza Man and the 2005 four track single "Scene" (feat Duncan Black), Rhian has been concentrating on her live performances.
In 2007, Rhian had been busy organising music events such as “Llanffest”, raising over £3,000 for the 2008 International Sheepdog Trials, plus £1.000 for the “Gob” gig at Bangor Railway Club, for Ty Gobaith, Conwy.
The “Llanffest” festival will be held again this year and will be much bigger and better, as Rhian is hoping to raise more money for Ty Gobaith, plus another two local charities.
The Daily Post video of the Carneddau ponies on this page, shows the amount of work the local farming community does, caring for the breed and making sure that they are fit and healthy.
"They are a very rare breed of Welsh Mountain Ponies and we are working hard try to get the Welsh Assembly to recognise this officially.
Rhian wrote the song “Hawl y Mynydd”, to highlight the issues surrounding the way of life of the Welsh mountain farmers and the Welsh way of life in general.
2008 is going to be an even busier year for Rhian, with plenty of live events planned, so keep an eye on her gig lists.
THE NEW ALBUM FROM RHIAN MOSTYN""SYRCAS"
IS OUT NOW ON RECORDIAU MENAI RECORDS.
"SYRCAS"
MENAI-CD008
“Syrcas” by Rhian Mostyn is the fourth release by the popular singer/songwriter from Llanfairfechan, Conwy, North Wales.
The album features twelve tracks of rock, downtempo and dance, performed in the quirky style that Rhian has become best known for over the last several years.
“Syrcas” is a re-mixed and re-mastered version of her 2007 release “Hawl”, with most of the tracks featuring different instrument, drum and percussion takes.
Rather than “Syrcas” being a direct re-master, it has had new ideas added to give the album a brighter feel, with the instruments now complimenting Rhian’s vocals in a much better way.
Songs such as “Cwsg”, with its swamp blues style are typical of Rhian’s lyrics working perfectly with the excellent slide guitar licks from guitarist, Arwel Owen.
“Circus Atari”, was written especially for the album by Duncan Black, former Skinflick guitarist and recording artist in his own right, with the instrumental version featuring on his debut album.
Rhian had always wanted to add vocals to “Circus Atari”, so it was a natural addition to her album.
Rhian is presently to be found performing songs from both “Syrcas” and her 2005 release “Scene” on the live music circuit including Llanffest, a small scale festival that has started to become a regular date on the local music scene that has featured bands such as Anhrefn, Tramp with a Plan and Blacklisted.
Rhian will also be performing at this years Sesiwn Fawr, Dolgellau.

"HAWL"
Menai-CD006
The new album from Rhian Mostyn “HAWL” is the third release from this popular and prolific singer/songwriter from Llanfaifechan, Conwy, North Wales.
It features twelve tracks of rock, pop and dance, all written by Rhian in her own imitable style, showcasing her take on the Welsh way of life and the world in general.
With the Drum..n Bass tinged “Y Gwir” (the truth), a trance-house mix of “Paun Aur” and the quirky style of “Circus Atari”, previously featured as an instrumental on the 2005 Duncan Black release, but now a vocal mix, especially written for Rhian by Duncan for this album, you will find something for everyone here, showing the true talents of this remarkable artist.
“HAWL” also features a re-mix of “Ibiza man”, previously recorded by Rhian for her 2001 “Playboy” release but still retaining the trademark “Down-tempo” feel of the original track.
