Bio
The Rhinestone Diplomats are a Minnesota rock band featuring Gene Hollister, Randy Olejnicak, Book Blexrud & Steve Wold. The RD’s got their start when Steve along w/ founding members Aaron Cabbage & David "too tight" Wickiser began performing as an acoustic trio at area coffee shops. Since then, the band has gone through some personel changes, stayed true to their roots, & has evolved into a rootsy rock band that has performed at some of Minnesota’s legendary rock clubs including First Avenue, The Cabooze, Turf Club & The Fine Line Music Cafe in addition to 2 appearances at the 10,000 Lakes Festival in Detroit Lakes, MN --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Their latest 10 song cd "Diplomats for Cutie" recorded with Mike Wisti of Rank Strangers at Albatross Studios is now available at all live shows as well as local retail outlet, Know Name Records for $9.99. It's also available online from www.CDBABY.com &/or iTunes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In addition, the RD's 2006 debut CD "Skeleton Hill” is an excellent six song intro to the band. Mixed & mastered by Tom Herbers (Gear Daddies, Low), this debut disc is also available at the locations listed above or at any of the band's shows. -
