Rhoda Morgan is an underground R&B singer/writer/producer. Born and raised in North London, United Kingdom Rhoda attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School and wrote her first hit at aged 14. In 2001 was featured on Simon Cowell’s Pop Idol. Although gaining little success on the show, it led to auditions with Universal Island Record executives. However, she was unable to secure a record deal blaming her nervousness and inexperience. Feeling discouraged and her motivation foundering, she packed her bags and in 2003 arrived in New York City. Her first achievements were performing in the 9/11 memorial concerts and production and writing credits for demo deal artists on Virgin Urban.

In 2006, after a year of writing primarily for other artists Rhoda began working on her own album “From Brixton to Brooklyn” which was released in November 2006 on her newly formed label “Concrete Rose.” Rhoda says “I called my album “From Brixton to Brooklyn” to show the influence of music, artists and styles from both sides of the Atlantic, from British garage and reggae beats to Latin-infused Brooklyn hip-hop” She also added that it was a ‘celebration of her journey’ from one country to another. The album featured collaborations with East Coast Rappers Stelo, Seldom Seen, Jersey and reggae artist Loose and was recorded in Bedstuy, Brooklyn.

“He Say She Say” The first single on the album received airplay on college radio throughout the U.S. Rhoda performed and gave interviews on U.S. T.V. shows “Beyond Music”, “The Block Party”, “Real Talk” and “Y Network T.V.”, Radio Shows “Top10 WBMB countdown”, “What’s Going On”, “Best of Urban” as well as making a number of live performances across the East Coast.

In 2007 Rhoda held an active role in many major label projects, writing and placing tracks with commercial artists. She frequently participated in track dumps for Bad Boy Records, J Records, Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam, Virgin Urban, Koch, Sony / Columbia, Warner Bros Records, amongst others.
