BRAG INVADE THE STATES
Went to San Francisco invited by Firehouse Posters - Chuck Sperry and Ron Donovan, to produce a screen printed gig poster for the Summer of Love festival 40th Anniversary.
Chuch and Ron passed on their knoweldge of printing and poster making, whilst teaching me about how the industry works. They also gave great guided tours of the bars and local ales. When your with rock artists - you gotta drink like em.
During the visit they arranged lectures with other poster artists and industry professionals. We had a guided tour of the Fillmores by their art director, who explained the history of the poster scene. Alan Forbes gave an inking lesson - which was amazing, incredible level of detail and precission. TRPS (The Rock Poster Society) gave us membership and sponsoured BRAG's exhibition, at the Aspect Gallery. The trip concluded with NBC boardcasting the workshop on mainline news. It was an incredible experience and i am very grateful to firehouse for inviting me. Stay tunded for the FIREHOUSE Invasion of Britain - ETA Next Summer!
i also play guitar, mainly very loud with dropped tunings and lots of distortion. Learning Some bottle neck blues, and slide tunings so i can play my heart out and drown those sorrows. Things that glow in the dark and look trippy, usually grab my attention.
Who I'd like to meet: and Eddie Veder and all of pearl jam, Space aged Cyber Monkies, Gandalf, Chompsky, BILL BAILEY, Dave Mckean, John Garcia, Acid Mothers temple, and visist Chuck Sperrys Firehouse workshop, Sans Frans, and Poster artist Derek Hess and Ron Donovan, Emek,
