The Rhyme Skeme started as a collaboration of musicians and emcees who were friends since childhood growing up in Connecticut. The group was originally birthed by Shaun Doobe and Ollie Twist who in turn ended up recruiting many others into the fold who showed an interest and shared the vision. Rhyme Skeme quickly became more than just music, in fact it still remains it's own culture and a bond held by few who hold a commitment to making sure the dream never dies. After releasing countless mixtapes and projects (Burnin' In Vernon, Microphone and the Sword, Generation Vexxed, Inside The Mind Of Ollie Twist, Born Red, The Dynasty Vol. 1 & 2, Against All Odds, Counter-Intelligence, The Portfolio, Godz of the Microphone, Twist the Clepto, etc. to name a few) the group started distributing their music on a more substanstial level, most notably with the group record "The Sun Never Sets" in November of 2002 and Ollie Twist's solo record "Twistology" in June 2003. With 1,000 units of each record the group was able to establish a local fan base rapidly and gain respect amongst other underground artists on the come up. The group became their own independent record label and production company in 2004. During this year Rhyme Skeme released their classic 20+ track record "Organized Rhyme" on August 17th, featuring all eight members. The album also featured Remedy from the Wu-Tang Killa Bees, known widely for his debut track "Never Again" which discusses the conditions of the concentration camps during World War II on the platinum-selling album "The Swarm." "Reality Strikes" on "Organized Rhyme" featured Remedy on the hook over a track that he personally produced. In October of 2005, Ollie Twist would release an eponymous album under the alias "Nucleus," followed by a solo album from Rhyme Skeme member Kastro (now Tommy Marin) entitled "Clear The Haze" in November of 2006. In April of 2007, the disc "Rhyme Skeme Productions Presents... 'Ruthless Self Promotion' Vol.1" dropped, also featuring all original Rhyme Skeme members. Over time Rhyme Skeme Productions managed to sell thousands of albums without any major distribution. In 2004 and 2005, Rhyme Skeme headlined the Connecticut Original Music Festival and also performed two consecutive annual benefit concerts for the Urban Youth League of Greater Hartford. In January of 2007 Rhyme Skeme Productions joined the internet world with the official website www.rhymeskeme.com and distributed all of their choice releases internationally to most major online retailers from iTunes to Napster. The next project combined both Ollie Twist and Tommy Marin as a duo, forming the most commercial and timeless RSP project to date: FREQUENCY 420. The eponymous album was professionally assembled and recorded by both Rhyme Skeme Productions and longtime New York based business partner and music company Mental Instruments. Most notably, it features a track entitled "Lazy Eye" featuring Reakwon the Chef from the Wu-Tang Clan. During the summer of 2008 Twist Blade Studios burned down due to a hostile apartment fire and was later relocated and rebuilt from the ground up. Work began immediately on what would eventually become "Twistology 2", a concept album featuring Doobe which was produced by Ollie Twist and long time Rhyme Skeme collaborater Avatar and was released in March of 2009. During this time Ollie Twist worked closely with an upcoming hip hop group from Poland known as the "West Zone", completing a 20-track dual languauge compilation album entitled "A Long Time Ago Is Now". Another collaboration was birthed in 2009 with Penn State producer/MC Ill Pezent representing Echo Den Productions, resulting in album arranged by Ollie Twist and produced by Ill Pezent entitled "From CT2PA". Another project was to be released shortly after this from the latest addition to the Rhyme Skeme camp, Jiceman, completing his fourth full length album under the supervision of Ollie Twist who lended mixing and production to the record as well. The album was completed in August of 2009 and is entitled "It's Last Call". Meanwhile Avatar and Ollie Twist are releasing a parody album under the subgroup name of "Commercial Break", and General DoobE has begun work on his currently untitled debut solo album due in the Spring of 2010. Rhyme Skeme ultimately plans to begin work on a new "Rhyme Skeme" album set for release December 2010 which would make it the first group album release since "Organized Rhyme" in August of 2004.
